SWITCH Unveils Agentic AI Platform for Autonomous Urban Mobility and Logistics Operations

TLDR: Italian tech startup SWITCH has launched an Early Access Program for its new Agentic AI platform, designed to revolutionize urban mobility and logistics by automating planning, routing, and operations. The SWITCH AI Agent integrates simulation, forecasting, and real-time decision-making to tackle industry challenges like unpredictable demand and inefficient dispatching, promising significant operational efficiency gains for fleet operators.

Italian tech innovator SWITCH has officially opened sign-ups for the Early Access Program of its groundbreaking Agentic AI platform, a sophisticated solution poised to transform urban mobility and logistics. The core of this innovation is the SWITCH AI Agent, an advanced system engineered to automate critical functions such as planning, routing, and overall operations for a diverse range of fleet operators.

According to Matteo Forte, CEO and Founder of SWITCH, the technology was developed as a direct response to the pressing challenges faced by firms in the new mobility sector. Forte explained to Zag Daily, “During the development phase, we worked directly with shared micromobility operators, car sharing platforms and food delivery services. That gave us firsthand insight into what tools the industry actually needs.”

The SWITCH AI Agent is built upon a powerful combination of simulation, forecasting, and real-time decision-making capabilities. It aims to address common pain points in the industry, including unpredictable demand, the issue of idle vehicles and wasted energy, inefficient dispatching processes, fragmented data across various tools, and reliance on ‘gut feeling’ for crucial decisions. Forte elaborated on the concept of Agentic AI, stating, “Agentic AI refers to AI systems with a certain level of autonomy that can make decisions to complete tasks. It’s intentionally a broad definition, because these agents can have varying degrees of autonomy – from very low to very high – depending on what they’re designed to do.”

For urban mobility and logistics, the SWITCH AI Agent is designed to forecast demand with high accuracy, optimize field operations, simulate strategic changes, and analyze performance within context. Forte emphasized its user-centric design: “It’s built to understand an operator’s goals, connect them with real-world data, and take meaningful action. You can communicate with the tool via chat, and it works alongside operations, product and planning teams in real time to reduce complexity and speed up decision-making.” While the interface leverages advanced large language models (LLMs) tailored for fleet operations, SWITCH has also developed domain-specific tools for forecasting, optimization, analytics, and simulation.

SWITCH’s solutions are tailored for a wide array of stakeholders, including shared mobility companies, third-party logistics (3PLs) managing maintenance and rebalancing, last-mile delivery services, car rental companies, and even local governments for infrastructure planning. The company’s proprietary technologies, PULSE-AI and OPTIMESH, are central to its predictive analytics, digital twin capabilities, and operational functionalities, enabling unparalleled accuracy in demand forecasting and operations optimization.

Founded by Matteo Forte and Nunzio Gianfelice, SWITCH has already demonstrated significant impact. The company has processed over 5 million trips across urban mobility networks, successfully raised over €1 million from investors including MobilityUp and Berkeley Skydeck Europe, achieved more than 92% forecasting and simulation accuracy, and delivered operational efficiency gains of up to approximately 25% for its clients. The project is further supported by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institution of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
