TLDR: Anthropic has announced a significant upgrade to its Claude AI agent, enabling it to directly interact with and automate tasks across a range of third-party applications including Canva, Asana, Figma, Stripe, and Prisma. This new functionality, powered by ‘connectors,’ aims to streamline workflows and transform Claude into a more integrated AI collaborator, reducing the need for manual data transfer.
Anthropic, the AI startup behind the advanced Claude AI agent, unveiled a major enhancement on Monday, July 14, 2025, allowing its system to directly interact with and pull information from a diverse directory of third-party applications and websites. This development marks a significant step in AI’s integration into daily workflows, with Claude now capable of automating tasks across popular platforms such as Stripe, Figma, Prisma, Canva, and Asana.
The core of this new capability lies in ‘connectors,’ which function as digital gateways to various websites and desktop extensions. These connectors enable Claude to access user data and seamlessly weave it into new assets or actions, thereby eliminating the time-consuming process of manually transferring information between Claude’s outputs and external services.
For instance, users can now prompt Claude to retrieve their company’s revenue data from Stripe and organize it into a digestible quarterly report. Project managers can instruct Claude to reference Apple Notes documents to update Asana workflows following team meetings. Similarly, product developers can leverage Claude to pull notes from Linear for bug-fixing processes, and graphic designers can direct Claude to create designs directly within Canva.
Anthropic emphasized the transformative nature of this update in a press release, stating, “Now Claude can have access to the same tools, data, and context that you do — transforming it from a helpful assistant into an informed AI collaborator that gives you more relevant responses and can work with you directly in your tools.” This highlights the shift from Claude merely being a helpful assistant to a more deeply integrated partner in productivity.
Anwar Haneef, Head of Ecosystem at Canva, also commented on the integration, noting, “Claude is quickly becoming an essential creative partner for millions of people, and this integration brings Canva’s full design capabilities directly into that experience. Instead of uploading or manually transferring ideas, users can now generate, summarize, review, and publish Canva designs, all within a Claude chat.” This underscores the practical benefits for creative professionals.

This move by Anthropic follows its previous introduction of a computer use tool in October, which allowed Claude to interact with desktop digital tools much like a human user. The latest integrations position Claude as a strong contender in the evolving landscape of AI-powered productivity, alongside developments from other major players like OpenAI, which has integrated ChatGPT’s image generation into WhatsApp and reportedly plans a suite of productivity tools to rival Google Workplace and Microsoft Office 365.
