Prosper AI Raises $5 Million to Revolutionize Healthcare Administration with Voice AI

TLDR: Prosper AI has successfully secured $5 million in seed funding to accelerate the development and deployment of its specialized voice AI platform, aimed at automating critical administrative tasks in the healthcare sector. The funding round was led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, CRV, and Company Ventures. The company’s AI agents are designed to tackle the industry’s substantial $450 billion annual administrative burden, improving efficiency and patient access.

Prosper AI, a pioneering voice artificial intelligence platform dedicated to healthcare, has announced the successful closure of a $5 million seed funding round. This significant investment is set to propel the company’s mission to automate and streamline the often-cumbersome administrative workflows within the healthcare industry. The funding initiative was spearheaded by Emergence Capital, a venture capital firm renowned for its early backing of industry giants such as Salesforce, Veeva, and Doximity. Additional participation came from prominent investors including Y Combinator, CRV, and Company Ventures.

The core focus of Prosper AI’s platform is to address the staggering administrative costs plaguing the U.S. healthcare system, which currently exceed an estimated $450 billion annually. A substantial portion of this, approximately one-third of the workforce in hospitals and physician offices, is dedicated to administrative duties such as answering phones, managing claims, and verifying insurance. These inefficiencies frequently lead to patient delays and missed appointments.

Prosper AI’s specialized AI agents are engineered to handle a wide array of these tasks with remarkable efficiency. Their capabilities include automated patient scheduling, managing billing inquiries, conducting benefits verification, processing prior authorizations, and following up on claims. These agents are adept at navigating complex Interactive Voice Response (IVR) menus with 99% accuracy and can even wait on hold with insurance companies, significantly reducing the burden on human staff. Customers are already experiencing a 50-70% automation rate for inbound patient calls, demonstrating the platform’s immediate value.

Co-founders Josep Mingot and Xavier de Gracia, both alumni of MIT and Harvard, established Prosper AI in 2023. Their vision is to unlock universal access to care by empowering healthcare organizations with advanced AI solutions. “Our mission is to unlock universal access to care by empowering healthcare organizations to achieve unprecedented efficiency with AI Agents,” stated Xavier de Gracia. He further elaborated that “The voice AI agents speak like humans and can speak to patients about complex conversations to deep integrations with practice management software. When calling insurance companies, we skip phone trees, wait on hold and speak with insurance agents on the phone to get the right information.”

The company has already demonstrated significant traction, with its AI agents executing hundreds of thousands of calls for a diverse client base, including a Providence-affiliated hospital and a major medical billing company. This rapid adoption has fueled impressive growth, with revenue climbing 4x since Q2 2025 alone. Looking ahead, Prosper AI plans to expand its capabilities beyond voice interactions, envisioning a broader AI workforce for healthcare that can read faxes and directly interact with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, further eliminating waste and enhancing care accessibility.
