Emergent Secures $23 Million in Series A Funding to Advance AI-Powered Software Development

TLDR: Emergent, a rapidly growing AI startup, has successfully raised $23 million in Series A funding, led by Lightspeed, bringing its total funding to $30 million. This capital infusion will accelerate the company’s global expansion, deepen its AI research, and enhance its platform for building applications with autonomous AI agents.

Emergent, a pioneering ‘agentic vibe-coding platform’ dedicated to democratizing software creation, announced on September 24, 2025, the successful closure of a $23 million Series A funding round. This significant investment, spearheaded by Lightspeed, elevates the company’s total funding to $30 million, following an earlier $7 million seed round. The funding round saw participation from prominent investors including Together Fund, Y Combinator, Prosus Ventures, and a roster of notable angel investors such as Jeff Dean, Devendra Chaplot, and Balaji Srinivasan.

Launched in 2025, Emergent has quickly established itself as one of the fastest-growing AI startups globally, achieving an impressive $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within just 90 days of its launch. The San Francisco-based company’s platform empowers individuals and enterprises to construct full-stack, production-ready applications using autonomous AI agents, streamlining the software development process.

Mukund Jha, Co-founder and CEO of Emergent, articulated the strategic allocation of the newly acquired capital. ‘The funds will be used to deepen our investment in AI research, scale our platform globally, and bring exceptional people on board to fuel that growth,’ Jha stated. He further emphasized that this investment will ‘accelerate innovation, strengthen our product capabilities, and deliver meaningful solutions that help our users achieve more faster.’

The company’s expansion strategy includes a strong focus on high-growth regions, particularly the Middle East. This move aligns with governmental initiatives like UAE Vision 2030 and Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritize digital transformation and the empowerment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Emergent aims to play a pivotal role in enabling entrepreneurs, creators, and enterprises across MENA and Asia to accelerate innovation, having already served over 1 million users.
