Hyderabad, October 27, 2025 – Renowned Telugu actor Chiranjeevi has lodged a formal complaint with the Hyderabad cybercrime police concerning the widespread circulation of AI-generated deepfake pornographic videos that exploit his name and image. The complaint, filed today, details how various online platforms have published and distributed fabricated content falsely depicting the actor in obscene contexts.
According to reports, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation under pertinent sections of the Information Technology Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. This legal action follows Chiranjeevi’s recent ad-interim injunction from the City Civil Court, aimed at safeguarding his identity from unauthorized exploitation.
Chiranjeevi has provided authorities with specific details of the websites hosting the illicit content, emphasizing the malicious intent behind these actions. He asserts that these deepfake videos constitute a severe violation of his fundamental rights to privacy, reputation, and dignity, as enshrined under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
The actor highlighted that these deepfake videos are not isolated incidents but rather indicative of a broader, organized, and deliberate campaign. He underscored the profound reputational damage inflicted by these fabricated videos, describing them as a direct threat to the decades of goodwill and public trust he has meticulously built throughout his career.
“These videos are entirely fake and created using artificial intelligence commonly referred to as deepfake pornography, which unlawfully manipulates and morphs my facial features and persona into obscene content,” Chiranjeevi stated, directly addressing the nature of the digital manipulation.
Given the persistent and public accessibility of these videos, Chiranjeevi has urgently requested a comprehensive criminal and technical investigation into the accused websites and all individuals involved in the creation and dissemination of the content. He is also seeking immediate blocking, takedown, and permanent removal of these videos from all online platforms.
Chiranjeevi further emphasized that as a prominent public figure and artist, the malicious distribution of such content severely undermines his public image and the trust he shares with his audience. He noted that the videos have been intentionally used to distort public perception.
“Unrestricted public accessibility of these videos makes the offence extremely grave and calls for immediate blocking, takedown and digital forensic tracing of those responsible for creating, uploading and circulating this content,” he added, stressing the urgency of the situation.
