Bengaluru Hosts AWS GenAI Loft to Propel AI Startups and Developers

The initiative underscores AWS’s commitment to democratizing access to GenAI technology and accelerating the creation of AI applications globally.

Bengaluru, a burgeoning hub for technological innovation, has become a focal point for Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) global GenAI Loft initiative. This program is designed as a collaborative pop-up space, bringing together a diverse ecosystem of startups, developers, investors, and industry experts to delve into the transformative potential of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). While the primary AWS GenAI Loft event in Bengaluru ran from July 29 to August 9, 2024, a launch mixer for startups was also scheduled for July 7, 2025, indicating an ongoing commitment to the region’s AI landscape.

The GenAI Loft serves as a crucial platform for participants to gain deep insights into GenAI, explore its real-world applications across various industries, and receive hands-on experience with AWS’s comprehensive suite of AI tools and technologies. Attendees benefit from a rich agenda that includes workshops, hands-on training sessions, and demonstrations by AWS and its partners. These sessions cover the latest GenAI models and services, offering both technical immersions and business perspectives from entrepreneurs who are actively building India’s leading AI startups.

Kumara Raghavan, Head – Startups, AWS India and South Asia, emphasized the loft’s purpose, stating, “The GenAI Loft is designed to provide a dedicated space for builders and innovators to learn, ideate, and gain hands-on experience in leveraging the transformative potential of generative AI.” The initiative also facilitates networking opportunities, allowing participants to connect with AI experts, thought leaders, and potential investors, fostering an environment ripe for collaboration and accelerated growth.

Key technologies and services highlighted at the Loft include Amazon Bedrock, which provides access to a range of AI models from leading companies like Meta, Anthropic, Cohere, and Mistral AI, enabling the development of custom GenAI applications. Demos are also presented on building and scaling GenAI applications using Partyrock. AWS partners such as Shellkode, Datastax, Ganit, Cloudthat, Ankercloud, Rapyder, and GoML actively participate, showcasing their GenAI solutions.

This Bengaluru initiative is part of AWS’s broader commitment, including a recent pledge of $230 million, aimed at accelerating the creation of GenAI applications by startups globally. Following its stop in Bengaluru, the GenAI Loft global tour is set to move to other key AI hotspots worldwide, including San Francisco, São Paulo, London, and Paris, underscoring AWS’s dedication to democratizing access to generative AI technology and fueling the next wave of AI-driven innovation.
