AWS Introduces Amazon Nova in Bedrock to Revolutionize Personalized Product Development and Marketing

TLDR: Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Amazon Nova within Amazon Bedrock, a new offering designed to empower businesses in creating hyper-personalized products and highly targeted marketing campaigns. This innovation, showcased at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2025 with ‘The Fragrance Lab,’ leverages generative AI to transform customer experiences and accelerate creative development across various industries.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled Amazon Nova, a significant new capability integrated into Amazon Bedrock, marking a leap forward in the realm of personalized product creation and marketing. Announced on August 20, 2025, this offering is engineered to enable businesses to achieve hyper-personalization and deliver enhanced customer experiences through advanced generative AI.

The core of this innovation was vividly demonstrated at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2025 with ‘The Fragrance Lab.’ This interactive experience showcased how generative AI, powered by Amazon Nova in Amazon Bedrock, can support the development of highly personalized consumer goods, such as custom fragrances, and rapidly accelerate the creation of advertising creative concepts and campaign assets. Following its debut, The Fragrance Lab garnered significant recognition, receiving both a Gold and Silver Stevie Award from the International Business Awards in the Brand & Experiences category.

‘The Fragrance Lab’ represents a comprehensive, end-to-end application that illustrates the transformative potential of generative AI across retail, consumer goods, advertising, and marketing sectors. While the Cannes Lions activation focused on personalized fragrance development and ad campaign creation, AWS emphasizes that the underlying architecture and methodology are highly adaptable. This flexibility allows for its application across diverse categories, including fashion, food and beverage, skincare, cosmetics, home goods, and wellness products, thereby opening up vast possibilities for customized customer interactions.

According to Rohit Prasad, SVP of Amazon Artificial General Intelligence, ‘Inside Amazon, we have about 1,000 Gen AI applications in motion, and we’ve had a bird’s-eye view of what application builders are still grappling with. Our new Amazon Nova models are intended to help with these challenges for internal and external builders, and provide compelling intelligence and content generation while also delivering meaningful progress on latency, cost-effectiveness, customization, information grounding, and agentic capabilities.’

Amazon Nova is described as a new generation of state-of-the-art foundation models, offering frontier intelligence and industry-leading price performance, available exclusively on Amazon Bedrock. These models possess multimodal capabilities, meaning they can process text, image, and video as prompts, enabling applications to understand complex data like videos, charts, and documents, or generate multimedia content. The Nova family includes models like Amazon Nova Micro (text-only, low latency, low cost), Amazon Nova Lite (multimodal, very low cost, fast), Amazon Nova Pro (multimodal, balanced accuracy, speed, cost), and Amazon Nova Premier (most capable for complex reasoning, available Q1 2025). Additionally, specialized models like Amazon Nova Canvas for image generation and Amazon Nova Reel for video generation are part of the suite. These models are also optimized for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic applications, ensuring accuracy by grounding responses in an organization’s proprietary data and facilitating multi-step tasks through API interactions.
