JAKARTA, Indonesia ā Amazon, in a groundbreaking initiative with teachers and students from 21 high schools across West Java, Indonesia, has officially secured a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSĀ® title. The achievement, announced on October 17, 2025, recognizes their success in the ‘Most Applications Made In An On-site Generative AI (Gen AI) Event,’ where an impressive 10,821 unique Gen AI applications were created on October 15, 2025.
This historic feat is the culmination of a year-long educational journey for the participating students and teachers, focusing on the creative potential and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The collaborative effort was facilitated through partnerships with Prestasi Junior Indonesia, Alkademi Foundation, and Yayasan Sagasitas Indonesia, showcasing the region’s burgeoning expertise in Gen AI technology.
During the record-setting event, high school students conceptualized various Gen AI application ideas, outlining necessary prompts and widgets. Teachers and non-profit staff then brought these ideas to life by inputting them into PartyRock, an Amazon Bedrock playground. Examples of the innovative applications developed include project management assistants and personal carbon footprint companions. Participants engaged in the event from their respective schools and the Amazon Think Big Space located at SMK Negeri 1 in Karawang, Indonesia.
The rigorous verification standards of GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS were applied, ensuring that all 10,821 applications were demonstrably functional and unique. Ms. Aynee Toorabally, a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator, lauded the initiative, stating, “The success of students and educators of West Java in breaking the record today underscores Amazon’s commitment in empowering young Indonesian talents through technologies and training that prepares them for the future.”
Mr. Jaime VallĆ©s, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific & Japan, AWS, emphasized Amazon’s broader vision: “The future of innovation and growth across APJ lies in democratizing access to transformative technologies including generative AI.
