TLDR: AI CERTs has launched “Mission AI-Saksham,” a nationwide initiative in India to provide free access to industry-aligned AI certification programs for students in higher education institutions. This program aims to address the significant AI skills gap in the country, with projections indicating a shortfall of over a million qualified AI professionals by 2027.
AI CERTs, a prominent global provider of AI certifications, has officially launched “Mission AI-Saksham,” a strategic initiative designed to tackle India’s growing AI skills deficit. This nationwide program will offer free access to industry-aligned AI certification programs to students across various higher education institutions, including those in engineering, management, arts, and commerce disciplines. The initiative comes at a crucial time as India is on the cusp of an artificial intelligence revolution, with its domestic AI market projected to reach a valuation of $17 billion by 2027.
However, this rapid growth is accompanied by a significant challenge: a widening gap between the demand for AI talent and the availability of job-ready professionals. Industry estimates suggest that while the AI sector is expected to generate over 2.3 million jobs by 2027, only around 1.2 million qualified individuals may be available, indicating a substantial skills shortfall that “Mission AI-Saksham” aims to bridge.
Chintan Dave, General Manager of AI CERTs, emphasized the urgency of this initiative, stating, “As artificial intelligence reshapes global industries, the mismatch between academic curriculum and real-world job requirements has never been more evident. ‘Mission AI-Saksham’ is our response to this challenge. It’s an invitation for institutions and students alike to co-create a learning ecosystem that is agile, inclusive, and aligned with tomorrow’s demands.”
The program will integrate AI CERTs’ curriculum into existing academic programs through practical workshops, AI bootcamps, modular training aligned with industry needs, and real-world project assignments. The focus is on experiential learning, providing students with access to the same tools, techniques, and datasets used by AI professionals globally. This collaborative approach, partnering with academic institutions, seeks to embed job-ready AI learning directly into the student experience.

“Mission AI-Saksham” is more than just a training initiative; it is a strategic move to ensure India’s future workforce is equipped, empowered, and ready to lead in the era of artificial intelligence. This initiative aligns with AI CERTs’ broader mission to certify one billion learners globally in AI and emerging technologies, with this program marking a significant step in realizing that vision within India.
