With 29 million learners enrolled on the platform, India has solidified its position as Coursera’s second-largest market, trailing only the United States. While approximately 70% of these learners are men, there has been an encouraging 290% growth in the number of women learners on the platform. Stein expressed optimism about this trend but emphasized the ongoing need to improve the gender ratio.
Coursera’s commitment to enhancing the learning experience is further demonstrated by its AI-powered feedback tool, “Coach.” Since its launch in September 2024, the Coach feature has facilitated a total of 3.7 million messages exchanged in India, providing learners with immediate and personalized assistance.
