Indian Startups Secure Fresh Capital: SpaceFields, All Things People Raise Funds; India Accelerator Acquires MySOHO

TLDR: Several Indian startups have successfully raised new funding rounds, with spacetech firm SpaceFields securing $5 million and HR-tech platform All Things People raising Rs 7 crore. Concurrently, India Accelerator is set to acquire co-working space provider MySOHO to enhance its startup ecosystem offerings. Other companies, including Tesla Power Equipments and Projects and generative AI platform OnFinance AI, also announced successful funding rounds.

In a dynamic period for the Indian startup ecosystem, multiple companies have announced successful funding rounds and strategic acquisitions. Among them, spacetech innovator SpaceFields and HR-tech platform All Things People (ATP) have collectively raised significant capital, while India Accelerator moves to acquire co-working space provider MySOHO.

Deeptech startup SpaceFields has successfully closed a strategic investment round, raising $5 million (approximately Rs 42 crore). The round was spearheaded by Globaz Technologies Pvt Ltd, with co-leadership from Rockstud Capital and Venture Catalysts++ Group. Notable participants in this funding initiative included Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter, VC Grid, Burla Angel Network, Faad Capital, SIDBI, O2 Angels, and MeitY Startup Hub. This latest infusion of capital follows a $1.3 million seed funding round in 2024. SpaceFields, founded in 2021 by Apurwa Masook, Rounak Agrawal, and Sudarshan Samal, plans to allocate the new funds towards scaling its manufacturing capabilities, securing essential regulatory certifications, and expanding its team across engineering, operations, and business functions. The company, incubated at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, specializes in developing advanced rocket propulsion systems and solid propellants. It has notably secured four contracts under the Ministry of Defence’s iDEX initiative and holds 10 patent filings, with five already granted.

Meanwhile, All Things People (ATP), a human resources technology startup, has successfully raised Rs 7 crore ($0.7 million) in a seed funding round. This investment was supported by an angel syndicate comprising global industry executives, family, and friends. Prominent investors included Honasa Consumer founder and CEO Varun Alagh, Blackstone executive Amit Dalmia, and Unilever executive Alex von Behr. ATP intends to utilize these funds to expand its flagship product, ‘atp|reflect,’ and to bolster its capabilities in advanced analytics and actionable insights.

In a move signaling consolidation within the startup support sector, India Accelerator (IA) has announced its intention to acquire MySOHO, a co-working space provider. This acquisition aims to establish a comprehensive operating system for India’s burgeoning startup community. The transaction involves a combination of cash and equity, though specific financial terms were not disclosed. MySOHO currently manages 18 centers across eight cities, offering over 90,000 square feet of workspace and accommodating 1,800 desks with an impressive 90% occupancy rate. These facilities will be integrated into IA Spaces, India Accelerator’s physical extension of its ecosystem.
