Virtualitics Secures Phase II Air Force SBIR Contract for AI-Powered Logistics Optimization

TLDR: Virtualitics, a Mission AI Company, has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract by the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). This contract aims to advance AI logistics optimization for Readiness Spares Package (RSP) mobilization, a crucial element of the AFGSC’s agile combat employment (ACE) strategy. This marks Virtualitics’ third SBIR contract with the AFGSC in less than a year.

PASADENA, Calif. – Virtualitics, a leading Mission AI Company, announced on July 22, 2025, that it has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract by the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). This significant contract will enable Virtualitics to further develop its AI-powered logistics optimization tool specifically for Readiness Spares Package (RSP) mobilization. RSP mobilization is a critical component of the AFGSC’s agile combat employment (ACE) strategy, designed to enhance operational readiness and deployment capabilities.

The Virtualitics Integrated Readiness Optimization (IRO) Materiel product, which was competitively selected based on the success of its Phase I contract, is central to this initiative. The IRO Materiel product is engineered to optimize inventory storage and movement while adhering to stringent warehousing and safety constraints. The RSP solution, an integral part of Virtualitics IRO Materiel, aims to improve AFGSC readiness by streamlining the palletization of parts and equipment for global deployment. It achieves this by dynamically generating step-by-step illustrated packing guides that can adapt to real-time operational demands.

A key aspect of the solution is its leverage of AI-based constraint optimization. This technology is designed to maximize container volume utilization while strictly adhering to weight limits, thereby reducing packing time and accelerating operational effectiveness, particularly in contested logistics environments. Michael Amori, Virtualitics’ Chief Executive Officer, stated, “Virtualitics continues to deepen our partnership with the AFGSC, delivering new AI capabilities that enhance the AFGSC’s operational readiness. Our success is built on a deep collaboration with AFGSC personnel, ensuring that our AI products not only directly address real-world mission challenges, but also identify efficiency gaps. By rapidly integrating airmen feedback and continuously innovating, we are advancing the future of materiel readiness and strengthening the AFGSC’s ability to operate in contested logistics environments.”
