Workato Unveils Free Developer Sandbox to Empower Agentic AI Automation for Enterprises

TLDR: Workato has launched a new Developer Sandbox, offering free access to its Workato ONE platform. This initiative aims to democratize agentic AI automation, allowing developers and businesses to design, build, and deploy AI agents for various business functions without traditional enterprise onboarding complexities. The announcement was made at the company’s annual WOW: World of Workato 2025 event.

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Workato, a leader in agentic orchestration, has announced the launch of its Workato Developer Sandbox, a significant move to accelerate the adoption of agentic artificial intelligence automation across enterprises. Unveiled at the company’s flagship WOW: World of Workato 2025 event in Las Vegas, the self-service offering provides developers with free, full access to the Workato ONE platform, enabling them to build, test, and launch powerful AI agents.

The Developer Sandbox is designed for a new generation of ‘citizen AI developers’ and seasoned professionals alike, allowing them to explore and deploy AI-native and AI agent-powered applications for side projects, startups, or large-scale enterprise experimentation. It includes comprehensive access to Workato ONE’s capabilities, such as integration, automation, and data movement tools, alongside specialized agentic development tools like Workato GO and Agent Studio. Users will also benefit from AI-native features, including Workato AIRO copilots and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), along with 50,000 free usage credits to facilitate extensive experimentation.

Adam Seligman, Chief Technology Officer at Workato, emphasized the accessibility of their decade-long innovations, stating, “Everything we’ve built over the past decade—trusted by thousands of the world’s most sophisticated companies—is now available to developers for free. The full platform. All the connectors. Agent Studio. Our remote MCP server. It’s all here. You can build something incredible today, and get it into the hands of your users tomorrow.”

Workato ONE is positioned as the ‘Agentic Stack,’ envisioned as the foundation for all agentic AI operations. It comprises Workato Agentic for designing AI agents and Workato Orchestrate for managing them post-deployment. The Agent Studio, with its low-code and no-code user interface, allows configuration of AI agents with over 635 different skills and enables secure linking to various knowledge bases for information retrieval and action.

The WOW 2025 event, themed ‘Re(AI)lize Tomorrow,’ serves as a pivotal moment for the enterprise AI landscape. Workato is showcasing how numerous customers are already leveraging AI agents at scale to automate real business processes. The conference features over 15 production-grade agent demos, more than 35 breakout sessions, and hands-on labs, with collaborations from key partners including Amazon Web Services Inc., Workday Inc., Deloitte Touche Ltd., and Accenture Plc.

Chief Product Officer Amlan Debnath (also cited as Bhagat Nainani in some reports) highlighted the platform’s transformative potential: “This is the platform shift enterprises have been waiting for. Workato ONE now gives businesses a single system to orchestrate AI, data, and action — securely, at scale, and in production today.” Workato CEO Vijay Tella also noted the company’s internal success, having automated over 100 internal workflows with their own AI ‘Genies,’ and aims to bring this level of automation to every enterprise without the complexities of traditional copilots. The company also introduced the Agent Readiness Framework to help customers develop their own AI agents with built-in governance and deep integration capabilities.
