Trimble Unveils Agentic AI Platform to Revolutionize Construction Productivity

TLDR: Trimble has launched its Agentic AI Strategy, introducing a new Agentic AI Platform designed to act as a ‘force multiplier’ for productivity in engineering and construction. Unveiled at Trimble Dimensions, this initiative aims to embed AI into workflows, enabling customers and partners to develop and deploy AI agents to solve real-world problems and enhance data utilization.

LAS VEGAS – At its annual Trimble Dimensions user conference, Trimble (Nasdaq: TRMB) unveiled its comprehensive Agentic AI Strategy, positioning artificial intelligence as a ‘force multiplier‘ to significantly boost productivity and address complex challenges within engineering and construction workflows. The company’s vision centers on accelerating the development and expansion of agentic AI systems across the industry.

Central to this strategy is Trimble’s new Agentic AI Platform, described as a robust collection of core services, security frameworks, and tools. This platform is engineered to facilitate the secure, scalable, and safe deployment of agentic AI systems. Trimble teams are actively leveraging this infrastructure to create specialized AI agents that deliver tangible value to customers by focusing on specific tasks rather than general models. Mark Schwartz, senior vice president of AECO software at Trimble, characterized the platform as the ‘engine‘ that will enable Trimble, its partners, and customers to extract greater value from both their data and Trimble’s extensive suite of solutions. The platform is designed to be open and extensible, fostering industry-wide innovation by allowing partners and customers to develop and integrate their own AI agents and multi-agent workflows across Trimble’s construction offerings. Trimble announced that it is currently piloting a specific instance of this platform, known as Trimble Agent Studio, with select customers.

Trimble CEO Rob Painter highlighted that these AI advancements are a direct outgrowth of the company’s existing ‘Connect and Scale‘ strategy. This foundational strategy is dedicated to building an interconnected industry ecosystem that breaks down data silos, thereby empowering customers to make more informed decisions, collaborate more effectively, and operate with increased speed. By integrating AI into its solutions and optimizing data flow, Trimble aims to take crucial steps toward unlocking the full potential of connected data, ultimately empowering the entire industry.

Trimble is making innovative AI features accessible through Trimble Labs (Labs), an early engagement program that allows customers to test pre-release features and provide valuable feedback. Several capabilities are already available in select regions, including the AI Render feature in Trimble SketchUp and the Tekla Structures User Assistant. Additional agents, such as the Viewpoint Finance Assistant and Accubid Assistant, are anticipated to be available in Labs in early 2026. Other forthcoming AI tools include SketchUp Assistant and Generate Object (expected Q4 2025), Tekla Model Assistant (expected Q4 2025), and Trimble Connect Help Assistant (expected Q1 2026). Trimble Unity AI is also currently available as a Labs feature for all Trimble Unity Maintain and Permit customers.
