Key backers of ‘Leading the Future’ include venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, OpenAI President Greg Brockman, SV Angel’s Ron Conway, 8VC Management’s Joe Lonsdale, and Perplexity AI Inc. This formidable group aims to leverage campaign contributions, state-level PACs, a 501(c)(4) arm, and extensive digital advertising to advocate for what they term ‘sensible guardrails’ that maintain innovation and ensure the U.S. remains competitive in the global AI landscape, particularly against rivals like China.
