ServiceNow Unveils Zurich Platform, Advancing Enterprise AI with Enhanced Security and Autonomous Workflows

TLDR: ServiceNow has launched its Zurich Platform, integrating advanced multi-agentic AI development, robust enterprise-wide AI platform security, and innovative autonomous workflows. Key features include ‘vibe coding’ for natural language app creation, the ServiceNow Vault Console for data protection, and agentic playbooks that blend AI with human oversight to streamline operations and accelerate AI adoption across enterprises.

ServiceNow, a leading provider of cloud-based software solutions, has announced the release of its new Zurich Platform, marking a significant leap forward in enterprise artificial intelligence. The platform is designed to deliver breakthrough innovations across three core pillars: faster multi-agentic AI development, comprehensive enterprise-wide AI platform security capabilities, and reimagined autonomous workflows.

One of the standout features of the Zurich Platform is its intelligent developer tools, which introduce ‘vibe coding.’ This allows employees to design applications by simply explaining their requirements in natural language, democratizing high-velocity innovation. The platform’s ‘Build Agent’ is engineered to handle the design, construction, logic, integrations, testing, and governance aspects of app creation, ensuring that every application comes with built-in audit trails, security, and compliance.

Security is a paramount focus of the Zurich release, especially as enterprises increasingly adopt autonomous workflows powered by agentic AI. The platform introduces new built-in AI platform security capabilities to protect sensitive information, govern integrations, and manage expanding AI footprints. The ServiceNow Vault Console offers a guided experience for discovering, classifying, and safeguarding sensitive data across various workflows. It also provides recommendations for protecting newly identified sensitive data and customizable dashboards for monitoring key metrics. Complementing this, the Machine Identity Console addresses integration security by providing enterprise-grade authentication and authorization, giving control over bots and APIs. These new security features are built upon ServiceNow’s AI Control Tower, which was announced in May 2025 and offers enterprise-wide visibility, embedded compliance, and end-to-end lifecycle governance for agentic AI systems.

The introduction of autonomous workflows, powered by ‘agentic playbooks,’ is set to transform how organizations turn data into action. These playbooks embed AI into trusted frameworks, offering the flexibility to apply AI and human input precisely when and where it’s needed for greater control and efficiency. Unlike traditional playbooks that rely on predefined business rules, agentic playbooks integrate AI agents to automate decision-making and task execution, while still allowing for human intervention. For instance, in credit card support, an agentic playbook could direct an AI agent to verify identity, freeze a card, and issue a replacement, with human agents stepping in if necessary.

Amit Zavery, President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Product Officer at ServiceNow, emphasized the platform’s significance, stating, “Zurich marks a turning point for enterprise AI. ServiceNow is delivering multi-agentic AI systems in production that are not just powerful, but governable, secure, and built for scale. We are transforming the enterprise tech stack to be AI-native – from autonomous workflows that act on data with precision, to developer tools that democratize high-velocity innovation. With built-in controls for security, risk, and compliance, we’re helping organizations move beyond experimentation and into a new era of intelligent execution.”

Jon Sigler, EVP and GM, ServiceNow Platform and AI, added, “Today, we’re taking the next step to enable customers to operationalize in this agentic era. The pace of technology has never been faster, and businesses need trusted AI that drives tangible business outcomes. That’s the heartbeat of this latest release. It’s a bold reimagining of what’s possible when human ingenuity meets machine intelligence – designed to help organizations accelerate their innovation, safeguard what matters most, and unlock the full value of agentic AI.”

According to Gartner, “by 2029, over 60% of enterprises will adopt AI agent development platforms to automate complex workflows previously requiring human coordination.” ServiceNow’s Zurich Platform aims to meet this demand by providing a unified platform that seamlessly combines Process and Task Mining insights, offering end-to-end visibility and optimizing the deployment of AI agents for maximum effect.
