TLDR: Replit is spearheading a paradigm shift in software development, envisioning a future where natural language, specifically English, functions as the primary interface for creating applications. This vision is being realized through AI-powered tools like Ghostwriter and Replit Agent, enabling individuals without traditional coding expertise to build and deploy software. A recent landmark collaboration with the Government of Jordan to launch “Siraj,” an AI-powered learning assistant, exemplifies this approach, demonstrating the platform’s capability to rapidly develop and scale complex AI solutions using natural language prompts.
Replit, a leading platform in agentic software creation, is actively transforming the landscape of software development by championing the concept of English as the new machine code. This ambitious vision aims to democratize access to coding, allowing a broader audience to create software using natural language rather than complex programming syntax.
A significant stride in this direction was announced on October 23, 2025, with a landmark collaboration between Replit and the Government of Jordan. The Ministry of Education in Jordan launched the pilot phase of “Siraj,” an AI-powered learning assistant designed to revolutionize education across the Kingdom. Developed as part of the National Council for Future Technology’s initiatives, Siraj reflects the vision of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to harness artificial intelligence for educational advancement and improving citizens’ lives through technology. Minister of Education H.E. Dr. Azmi Mahafzah highlighted that Siraj offers an interactive learning experience powered by generative AI, providing accurate, curriculum-aligned answers and resources directly from official school textbooks.
Amer Abulaila, a member of the National Council for Future Technology, developed the pilot version of Siraj in less than a month. He stated, “Building a project of this scale from scratch would have taken months of development. Using Replit enabled us to prototype and deploy the learning assistant in a fraction of the time, effectively transforming vision into reality.” During its pilot phase, Siraj has already served over 100,000 students and teachers, recording more than 600,000 interactions. The Ministry plans to expand Siraj nationwide to 1.6 million students and 90,000 teachers following this successful pilot.
Replit CEO Amjad Masad emphasized the platform’s role in this transformation: “Siraj is a powerful example of what’s possible when governments embrace innovation to empower their people. Built on Replit’s agentic software creation platform, Siraj brings cutting-edge AI innovation to Jordan’s national education system, helping students and teachers enhance learning outcomes. With Replit, anyone can build and publish applications using natural language — no coding experience required.”

This initiative underscores Replit’s broader mission to empower the next billion software creators. The company’s cloud-based integrated development environment (IDE) incorporates AI-powered tools such as Ghostwriter and Replit Agent. These tools provide coding suggestions, debugging tips, and can even generate entire features from plain English descriptions, effectively making natural language a powerful interface for software creation. Masad believes that traditional software creation is undergoing a paradigm shift, where AI enables individuals to bypass years of conventional training required for complex software development. This democratization of coding opens up vast possibilities for hobbyists, students, and entrepreneurs alike, fostering a new era where creativity and ideas can be rapidly translated into functional software.
