The collaboration will see Anthropic’s powerful Claude family of large language models (LLMs) integrated directly into IBM’s comprehensive software portfolio, promising measurable productivity gains for clients while embedding critical security, governance, and cost controls throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
The initial phase of this integration will focus on IBM’s new AI-first Integrated Development Environment (IDE), specifically designed with advanced task generation capabilities for enterprise software development, including modernization efforts. This IDE is currently in a private preview for select IBM clients. Early testing has shown remarkable results, with over 6,000 early adopters within IBM reporting an average productivity gain of 45 percent. These gains translate into significant cost savings without compromising code quality or stringent security standards.
