Renew Capital Invests in Morocco’s Hypeo Ai to Expand AI-Powered Influencer Marketing Across Africa and Middle East

TLDR: Renew Capital has announced a strategic investment in Hypeo Ai, a Moroccan startup leveraging artificial intelligence to revolutionize influencer marketing. The funding aims to scale Hypeo Ai’s platform, which streamlines collaborations between brands and creators, including AI-generated ‘Meta Humans,’ across the African and Middle Eastern markets.

Renew Capital has officially backed Hypeo Ai, a pioneering Moroccan startup, with an investment aimed at significantly scaling its AI-powered influencer marketing platform. This strategic move is set to transform brand-creator collaborations across Africa and the Middle East by eliminating traditional, manual marketing inefficiencies.

Hypeo Ai’s innovative platform connects brands with both human influencers and AI-generated ‘Meta Humans’ in under 15 minutes. It offers an end-to-end campaign workflow, featuring automated matching, fair pricing estimates, and real-time performance tracking, thereby replacing cumbersome spreadsheets and fragmented tools. Meriam Bessa, CEO and co-founder of Hypeo Ai, alongside Oussama Sekkat and Salah Eddine Mimouni, emphasized the region’s abundant creative talent, stating, ‘Our region has no shortage of talent. What’s been missing is smart infrastructure. We’re building tools that allow brands and creators to meet faster, match better and work smarter with the power of AI.’

A notable feature of Hypeo Ai’s offering is its development of virtual influencers. Kenza Layli, one of their digital personas, boasts over 200,000 followers and was recently a finalist in the global ‘Miss AI 2024’ contest, underscoring the growing impact of AI-generated creators in the industry.

Nihal Grii, Investment Ecosystem Development Manager at Renew Capital, highlighted the relevance of Hypeo Ai’s solution in the market. ‘Hypeo Ai is tackling a clear gap in how influencer marketing works in this region,’ Grii commented. ‘We see potential in their approach to simplifying the process for both brands and creators, and we’re glad to support their next stage of growth.’
