Reichman University successfully hosted a landmark Generative AI Conference on September 4, 2025, serving as a crucial platform to bridge the gap between academic research and industry innovation in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. The summit, also referred to as the ‘AI Industry – Academia Summit, Where Research Meets Reality,’ gathered leading experts to delve into the newest developments and applications of generative AI.
Dr. Kfir Bar, a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Reichman University, emphasized the conference’s significance, stating, ‘This event marks an important step in opening new opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry, driving forward the advancement of generative AI.’ His remarks highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to cutting-edge AI research and practical implementation.
The conference featured three parallel sessions, offering a comprehensive exploration of diverse AI facets. These sessions focused on critical areas such as AI in healthcare, the emerging field of agentic AI, and broader generative AI research and applications. The agenda was packed with insightful presentations from a roster of distinguished speakers.
Keynote addresses included Prof. Boaz Ganor, President of Reichman University, who discussed ‘The Impact of GenAI on Academia,’ and Prof. Arik Shamir, who presented on ‘Generative AI for style and abstraction.’ Other notable speakers and their topics included Prof. Reut Tsarfaty on ‘Multilingual LLMs,’ Erez Dagan from Wayve.ai on ‘The AI-Driven Future,’ and Prof. Shira Faigenbaum-Golovin, who explored the intriguing intersection of ‘Deep thoughts on not-so-deep data: what between AI, archeology, and biblical studies.’ Sarel Weinberger, Director of AI at PWC, addressed ‘The Israeli LLM Project: Challenges and Solutions,’ while Moshe Wasserblat from Intel discussed ‘Efficient agents for AI PC.’
