TLDR: Nullspace, a deep tech firm specializing in electromagnetic simulation software, has successfully raised $2.5 million in seed funding. The round was spearheaded by Fathom Fund, with additional contributions from Golden Seeds LLC and various angel investors. This capital infusion will be directed towards expanding the engineering team, accelerating product development, and scaling commercialization efforts across high-growth sectors such as RF systems, quantum computing, and AI-enabled hardware.
Nullspace, an innovative deep tech company at the forefront of electromagnetic simulation software, has announced the successful closure of a $2.5 million seed funding round. The investment was led by Fathom Fund, with notable participation from Golden Seeds LLC and a consortium of strategic angel investors. This significant capital injection, announced on August 20, 2025, is earmarked for crucial strategic initiatives, including the expansion of Nullspace’s engineering team, acceleration of product development, and the scaling of its commercialization efforts.
The company is strategically targeting high-growth markets that include advanced radio frequency (RF) systems for applications in 5G, defense, and aerospace, as well as critical ion trap design for quantum computing and emerging AI-enabled hardware sectors. Dr. Masha Petrova, CEO and co-founder of Nullspace, emphasized the company’s vision, stating, ‘Nullspace will utilize this seed funding to expand the engineering team, accelerate product development, and scale go-to-market efforts as we target growing demand across aerospace, defense, quantum computing, and AI-enabled hardware markets.’
Nullspace aims to revolutionize these industries by replacing outdated legacy software with its modern, high-accuracy enterprise simulation tools. Its flagship product, Nullspace EM, is designed to empower engineers to model larger and more intricate RF designs with enhanced speed and fidelity. Furthermore, Nullspace is pioneering advancements in quantum computing with Nullspace ES, which is described as the world’s sole commercial tool for the design and analysis of exceptionally large ion traps.
Dr. Paul Sheng, Managing Partner at Fathom Fund, expressed strong confidence in Nullspace’s potential. ‘At Fathom, we seek out companies that combine deep technical moats with clear paths to market dominance, and Nullspace is a great example of that,’ he remarked. Sheng highlighted the founding team’s extensive engineering expertise and operational experience, which have enabled them to deliver remarkably mature solutions. He added, ‘Nullspace is delivering much-needed modern physics simulation tools that customers are welcoming with open arms. In rapidly evolving markets like 5G, quantum computing, and spectrum management, this head start is invaluable.’ Dr. Sheng will join Nullspace’s board of directors as part of the investment.
