The seed round was co-led by MOC Capital, a Luxembourg-based venture capital firm managing approximately €140 million across two funds, and Shilling VC, a Lisbon-based firm with over €100 million under management, known for its investments in early- and growth-stage startups across Europe. The funding round also saw participation from a notable group of tech and fashion industry leaders, including Louis Jonckheere (Showpad, Wintercircus Ghent), Matthias Geeroms (Lighthouse), Joris Van Der Gucht (Ravical), Hyperson, and Severine Nijs (Jackie Lee Modeling Agency).
Founded by Ricardo Ghekiere and Miguel Rasero, BetterPic operates as an AI-native SaaS company, providing advanced solutions for both professional and fashion photography. Their product suite includes ‘BetterPic’ for AI-generated headshots and ‘BetterStudio’ for AI fashion shoots. These platforms offer capabilities such as changing backgrounds, clothing, and other features, aiming to deliver affordable, personalized, studio-quality imagery without the need for traditional photographers or physical studios.
