Mark Cuban Foundation and Miami Dade College Launch Free AI Bootcamp for High School Students

TLDR: The Mark Cuban Foundation, in collaboration with Miami Dade College, is set to host a complimentary Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp this fall for high school students in Miami. This initiative aims to provide hands-on experience with advanced AI tools, including generative AI, and explore their practical applications across various industries.

Miami, FL – The Mark Cuban Foundation, in a significant partnership with Miami Dade College (MDC), has announced a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamp designed for high school students in Miami. This program, set to run over three consecutive Saturdays in November 2025, aims to democratize access to cutting-edge AI education for the next generation of innovators.

The bootcamp will take place on November 1, 8, and 15, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, at an assigned MDC Campus. It is open to students in grades 9 through 12, with a particular emphasis on encouraging applications from underserved communities, including girls, students of color, first-generation college-goers, and those from low-income backgrounds. A key feature of the program is its commitment to accessibility: all meals, transportation assistance, and necessary technology will be provided at no cost to the participants.

The curriculum is designed to offer a comprehensive introduction to AI and machine learning, requiring no prior coding experience. Students will gain hands-on experience with current AI tools, including generative AI, and delve into real-world applications across diverse fields such as healthcare, arts and entertainment, business and entrepreneurship, computer science, sports science, and career readiness. A crucial component of the bootcamp is the exploration of the ethical implications of AI systems. Participants will also undertake a capstone project, guided by industry mentors, allowing them to apply their newfound knowledge.

Madeline Pumariega, President of Miami Dade College, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This innovative partnership with the Mark Cuban Foundation helps prepare and empower the next generation of tech professionals. By offering this bootcamp in Miami, MDC continues the lead in AI education and serve as the workforce engine for our community.”

Mark Cuban, founder of the Mark Cuban Foundation, underscored the program’s core mission: “Our goal is to ensure that every interested student, regardless of background or resources, can explore AI and its limitless possibilities.” This sentiment was echoed by Charlotte Dungan, Chief Learning Officer at the Mark Cuban Foundation, who added, “By equipping underserved students and educators with practical AI skills and ethical insights, we’re actively working toward equity in education and preparing young people for the future.”

Since its inception in 2019, the Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp initiative has served thousands of students nationwide, working diligently to bridge the digital divide. The 2025 program marks a significant expansion, operating in 29 cities across the U.S., and introduces a dedicated Teacher Fellow in every location, supporting local educators through a year-long paid fellowship.
