TLDR: Eyewear giant Lenskart is set to launch its first AI-powered smart glasses, internally dubbed ‘B by Lenskart Smartglasses,’ by the end of December 2025. This strategic move aims to transform the company into a technology-led lifestyle brand. The device will feature AI-based interactions, health and well-being insights, and integrated UPI payment capabilities, leveraging Google’s Gemini 2.5 model and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform. The launch is anticipated shortly after Lenskart’s stock market listing on November 10, positioning it as a pioneer in AI-driven smart eyewear for the Indian market.
Eyewear major Lenskart is poised to introduce its inaugural line of AI-powered smart glasses, internally referred to as ‘B by Lenskart Smartglasses’ or ‘B Camera Smartglasses,’ by the close of December 2025. This initiative signifies a pivotal shift for the company, aiming to establish itself as a technology-led lifestyle brand and evolve into a comprehensive vision-tech ecosystem. The announcement was made at the Global Fintech Festival, highlighting the device’s innovative features.
The upcoming smart glasses are designed to offer a blend of advanced functionalities. Key features include AI-based interactions, providing users with conversational and assistive capabilities. The device will also integrate health and well-being insights, enabling real-time tracking and monitoring. A standout feature is the direct UPI payment functionality, allowing users to scan QR codes and complete transactions securely using their voice, eliminating the need for a phone or PIN. This is powered by NPCI’s UPI Circle and a point-of-view camera.
Technologically, the ‘B by Lenskart Smartglasses’ are expected to be built on Google’s Gemini 2.5 model, facilitating sophisticated AI processing. The hardware is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform, a chipset specifically engineered for lightweight augmented reality and camera-enabled AI applications. This aligns with a strategic partnership between Lenskart and Qualcomm, announced at the Snapdragon for India XR Day in July 2025, focused on co-developing AR and AI solutions tailored for Indian consumers.
The launch is strategically timed to follow Lenskart’s anticipated stock market listing on November 10. The company recently concluded a public offering to raise INR 7,278 crore, valuing the firm at approximately INR 70,000 crore (USD 8 billion). Lenskart has also made significant investments in AI, XR (Extended Reality), and computer vision startups over the past year, bolstering its in-house technological capabilities.

While pricing details are yet to be finalized, Lenskart aims to target Indian consumers seeking seamless on-the-go payment solutions and integrated smart features. This move positions Lenskart to compete with global players like Meta-Ray-Ban Smart Glasses and Amazon Echo Frames, but with a distinct advantage of local payment integration, a tailored design language, and a price point suited for the Indian market. If successful, Lenskart could emerge as one of the first Indian consumer tech brands to commercialize AI-driven smart eyewear.
