TLDR: National law firm consolidator Lawfront has selected Jylo, a generative AI marketplace, as its key AI platform. This strategic move aims to democratize expertise and significantly boost efficiency across its six partner firms by enabling the creation of AI ‘playbooks’ for various legal tasks, fostering collaboration and competitive advantage in regional markets.
Lawfront, a national consolidator of law firms, has announced its selection of Jylo, a generative AI marketplace, as its core artificial intelligence platform. This initiative is designed to democratize expertise and drive efficiency across its network of partner firms, which include Brachers, Farleys, Fisher Jones Greenwood, Nelsons, Slater Heelis, and Trethowans.
Lawfront, a private equity-backed entity, focuses on acquiring regional law firms, providing senior partners with exit opportunities, and integrating modern technology and shared operating systems. The decision to partner with Jylo followed an extensive review of potential AI use cases across its member firms. Jylo was chosen for its versatility in serving a broad spectrum of practice areas and legal groups.
Jylo, a London-based AI company, specializes in enabling law firms to leverage various Large Language Models (LLMs) within their organizations. Its platform facilitates the creation of proprietary AI ‘playbooks’ designed to automate, augment, and accelerate legal work. This capability is particularly beneficial for Lawfront, as it promotes cross-firm collaboration and the sharing of best practices among its six constituent firms.
Teams within the Lawfront group will be able to develop their own ‘playbooks’ for tasks such as document analysis, review, and generation. This will allow for the automation of time-intensive activities, including identifying key clauses, extracting critical information, ensuring compliance, and flagging potential risks.
James Grice, Lawfront’s Head of Innovation and AI, who joined the firm in December of the previous year from Eversheds Sutherland, commented on the selection: “The adaptability of Jylo’s platform makes it a perfect fit for the wide range of firms, practice areas and lawyers across Lawfront. Teams are already starting to see the impact of Jylo on their workflow and efficiency. This kind of investment is what allows Lawfront firms to build a competitive advantage over peers in their regional markets.”

Grice further emphasized the broader implications of this adoption, stating, “This isn’t just about efficiency – it’s about democratising expertise.” This highlights Lawfront’s vision to not only streamline operations but also to make specialized legal knowledge more accessible and actionable across its diverse portfolio of firms.
