KT, in partnership with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, has successfully concluded a mobile artificial intelligence (AI) experience program, reaching over 450 students and faculty members in six middle schools across Yeoncheon, Yeoju, and Anseong. The initiative, which ran from October 27th to November 7th, utilized the ‘KT AI Station’ – a dedicated mobile AI learning space that also functions as an ESG (environmental, social, and governance) experience center.
The program provided participants with direct, hands-on experience in cutting-edge AI technologies, including AI voice recognition, video synthesis, and generative AI. Beyond technical skills, the curriculum also emphasized crucial aspects of digital ethics and information verification, addressing contemporary issues such as deepfakes and fake news.
Following the program’s conclusion, KT and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education convened at Yangseong Middle School in Anseong to review the outcomes and discuss future collaborative strategies aimed at reducing regional disparities in AI education.
Lee Jeong-hyeon, head of digital education policy at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, expressed satisfaction with the program’s impact, stating, “Students were able to develop interest by experiencing AI firsthand through the KT AI Station and build the ability to think for themselves. We will continue to expand AI education opportunities in schools.”
