TLDR: Hanwha Life Financial Service has received significant recognition for its advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives, including an AI translation tool and an AI insurance planning agent. These innovations were designated as ‘innovative financial services’ by the Financial Services Commission and highlighted during the company’s ‘AI DAYS 2025’ event, underscoring their commitment to enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency through AI.
Hanwha Life Financial Service is making significant strides in the financial industry, earning recognition for its pioneering Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovations. The company’s AI-powered services, notably an AI translation tool and an AI agent for insurance planning, were recently designated as ‘innovative financial services’ by the Financial Services Commission. This acknowledgment highlights Hanwha Life’s dedication to improving consumer convenience and fostering job creation through technological advancement.
The AI translation service is designed to dismantle language barriers between insurance planners and customers, particularly in a growing market with a diverse foreign resident population in Korea. By facilitating multilingual document translation, this tool is expected to significantly boost operational efficiency and competitiveness. It enables non-Korean financial planners to gain a clearer understanding of products and procedures, thereby strengthening their sales capabilities and customer service. Foreign customers, in turn, benefit from receiving crucial insurance information in their native languages, leading to improved comprehension and overall satisfaction.
Complementing this, the AI insurance planning agent integrates AI into the insurance design process, drastically reducing the time required to deliver accurately customized plans. This service shortens the average insurance planning time from over nine minutes to under one minute, allowing human planners to dedicate more time to client consultations and strategic planning. Customers benefit from receiving tailored plans free from unnecessary riders or excessive costs.
These innovations were a central theme at ‘AI DAYS 2025: Shaping the Future with AI & LIFEPLUS,’ an internal event where Hanwha Life outlined its AI vision and strategic roadmap. Co-CEOs Kwon Hyeuk-woong and Lee Kyung-keun, along with employees, gathered to share AI achievements and future plans. The company emphasized three strategic priorities: innovating AI services centered on core insurance operations, creating services that deliver value beyond finance into everyday life, and reinforcing financial AI leadership by enhancing employees’ AI knowledge and application skills.

Hanwha Life has been investing in AI research since 2014 and continues to expand its dedicated AI organizations, including the AI Research Institute and the Hanwha AI Center. The company aims to evolve into a comprehensive life solutions partner, accompanying customers throughout their lives, with AI serving as the core enabler for delivering customized financial and lifestyle solutions.
