The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Solomon Learning Group have forged a strategic partnership to establish the AI Literacy Hub, marking a significant stride in advancing artificial intelligence education throughout Hong Kong. The official launch, announced on November 7, 2025, positions the Hub as a cornerstone initiative designed to enhance AI literacy within the community, directly responding to the digital education directives outlined in The Chief Executive’s 2025 Policy Address.
The collaboration leverages HKUST’s robust capabilities in AI teaching and research, complemented by Solomon Learning’s extensive educational network. This synergy aims to cultivate a future-ready talent pool and foster innovation across the city.
The launching ceremony was graced by a distinguished assembly of guests, including Dr. CHOI Yuk-Lin, Secretary for Education of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (participating via video format); Mr. Antony LEUNG, Chairman and Co-Founder of Solomon Learning; Ms. Alison CHAN, CEO and Co-Founder of Solomon Learning; and Prof. Nancy IP, President of HKUST. Dr. Jac LEUNG, Lecturer of HKUST’s Division of Integrative Systems and Design, has been appointed as the Director of the newly formed Hub.
In her congratulatory address, Dr. Choi Yuk-Lin lauded the AI Literacy Hub as a pivotal moment in Hong Kong’s educational landscape. She stated, “This Hub will be vital in cultivating essential skills for our AI-driven society, fostering innovation and building a future-ready talent pool for Hong Kong.” Dr. Choi further emphasized the Education Bureau’s commitment to this transformation, highlighting the upcoming blueprint for digital education in primary and secondary schools, which will outline strategic measures to promote digital education. She added, “The AI Literacy Hub stands as a powerful testament to the collaborative spirit we need. By joining forces across government, academia, and industry, we shall empower educators and inspire students in driving the future for AI development.”
Mr. Antony LEUNG underscored the shared commitment to nurturing competitive, tech-savvy learners and educators. He remarked, “At Solomon Learning, we have remained at the forefront of AI advocacy and practical integration, championing the responsible use of emerging technologies in education. The launch of the AI Literacy Hub marks a pivotal step in establishing our city as a regional leader in AI talent cultivation. We aim at empowering schools, teachers and students to embrace the promise of AI, responsibly and effectively. Through this strategic collaboration with government support, we will nurture future-ready talents, foster innovation, and build long-term positive impacts for generations to come.”
Prof. Nancy Ip expressed her gratitude for the collaboration, noting that “The Hub will serve as a dynamic platform to develop AI education programs for primary and secondary schools, conduct community outreach, and communicate AI developments to the public. The launch of the Hub demonstrates our shared vision of advancing innovation in education. Together, we are not just building a platform but driving positive change to empower our communities and create lasting societal impact.” She also highlighted the Hub’s alignment with other key HKUST initiatives, including the recently established Von Neumann Institute and the Hong Kong Generative AI Research and Development Centre, as coordinated efforts to equip faculty and students with future-proof competencies.

Under the leadership of Dr. Jac LEUNG, the Hub is poised to drive innovation in AI education for primary and secondary schools.
