This collaboration will offer AI-powered product comparison insights, drawing from over 3 million authentic G2 reviews, to help buyers quickly assess product strengths and considerations directly within AWS Marketplace. The initiative aims to simplify the procurement process, enabling direct transactions and centralized billing.
CHICAGO – G2, the world’s largest and most trusted software marketplace, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a significant expansion of their four-year strategic partnership. This deepened collaboration is set to revolutionize the software buying experience by integrating G2’s vast repository of user reviews and insights directly into AWS Marketplace, powered by generative artificial intelligence.
The core of this expanded relationship is the creation of a more connected, intelligent, and frictionless software buying journey. By leveraging generative AI, specifically built using Amazon Bedrock, the partnership will provide advanced product comparison insights across AWS Marketplace listings. This means buyers will be able to access summarized key customer sentiments from over 3 million authentic G2 reviews, enabling quick, side-by-side product comparisons that highlight strengths and considerations at a glance.
Godard Abel, Co-Founder and CEO of G2, expressed enthusiasm for the deepened collaboration, stating, “We’re proud to deepen our collaboration with AWS, building a more connected and intelligent software buying journey across G2 and AWS Marketplace.” This sentiment underscores G2’s vision to make software buying smarter, faster, and more transparent.
Currently, G2 and AWS Marketplace already ingest more than 20,000 user reviews for products available within the AWS ecosystem. The new integration will elevate this by making G2 content a primary data source for AI-powered product insights within AWS Marketplace. This enhancement is designed to simplify the purchase decision-making process for customers.
Matt Yanchyshyn, VP, AWS Marketplace and Partner Services at AWS, highlighted the customer-centric approach: “We’re constantly innovating to make AWS Marketplace the best destination for customers to find, procure, and deploy the IT solutions they need. Our expanded collaboration with G2 enhances the customer experience by integrating authentic peer reviews with generative AI-powered insights, simplifying the purchase decision-making process. This represents our commitment to creating more intuitive and efficient experiences that help customers accelerate innovation.”
As software buyers increasingly rely on community-driven validation and self-service evaluation, this collaboration provides them with critical information to make informed decisions. Beyond insights, the partnership also streamlines the transaction process, allowing customers to transact directly in AWS Marketplace. This includes benefits such as managing subscriptions, leveraging centralized AWS billing, and utilizing cost optimization tools.
According to Sara Rossio, Chief Product Officer at G2, “According to G2’s 2024 Buyer Behavior Report, 33% of C-suite buyers prefer to purchase software through third parties for an expedited process.” This new capability aligns with G2’s commitment to delivering a seamless experience for software buyers, providing valuable connections between software vendors and their future customers.
