In his new capacity, Mike Heard will report directly to Dhara Patel, CEO of Davies North America. His responsibilities will encompass overseeing the company’s operational landscape across the region, managing daily back-office functions, spearheading efforts to integrate various services, and expanding Davies’ overall service delivery capabilities. Heard brings a wealth of experience to this role, having accumulated 28 years in the insurance sector. He initially joined Davies in May 2024 as the Chief Operating Officer of its Life & Health division.
A significant aspect of Heard’s new role will involve his direct participation in the development and execution of Davies’ Generative AI strategy. This aligns with the company’s broader vision for technological advancement and operational transformation. In May 2025, Davies successfully secured £275 million in new credit facilities from Blackstone Credit and Insurance. This substantial funding is earmarked to fuel investments in AI and automation technologies, support strategic mergers and acquisitions, and facilitate expansion across key global regions including North America, APAC, and EMEA. This financial backing is integral to Davies’ ‘Vision 2030,’ which outlines plans to utilize AI technology to enhance efficiency and reduce costs for its diverse client base.
