This initiative aims to equip students and teachers with AI-powered creative tools like Adobe Express and Firefly, fostering AI literacy and preparing students for an evolving workforce.

The State of California has forged a significant partnership with Adobe to embed AI-powered creative tools and comprehensive AI literacy resources into its educational system, specifically targeting high school students and educators, as well as higher education institutions. This collaboration, highlighted by the EdTech Innovation Hub, underscores a strategic move to prepare the next generation for an AI-driven world.

Under the terms of the agreement, participating schools will gain access to Adobe Express, an intuitive content creation application, and Firefly, Adobe’s suite of commercially safe generative AI models. These tools are designed to be seamlessly integrated into classroom lessons, projects, and career readiness activities, enabling students to develop crucial skills in content creation, multimedia storytelling, and digital marketing. The initiative seeks to lower barriers to creative expression while cultivating competencies highly valued across various industries.

Mala Sharma, Vice President and General Manager for Education at Adobe, emphasized the importance of this shift, stating, “To create the future, today’s students must learn to speak the language of tomorrow.” This sentiment reflects the broader goal of ensuring that students are not just consumers of technology but active creators and innovators.
