Applications are open from May 28 to August 1, 2025.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has officially launched the application period for its 2025 AI and Machine Learning Scholars program, a collaborative effort with online learning platform Udacity. This comprehensive, fully-funded initiative is designed to democratize access to AI education, aiming to equip 50,000 learners worldwide with essential artificial intelligence and machine learning skills, regardless of their prior experience.

The program is structured in two distinct phases. The initial “Challenge Phase” commenced on May 28, 2025, and will run until August 1, 2025. During this phase, participants will engage with a 20-hour “Introduction to Generative AI with AWS” course, focusing on the fundamentals of Generative AI and Machine Learning. This foundational training includes understanding the evolution of AI, core AI/ML concepts, and hands-on experience with innovative Generative AI tools like AWS PartyRock. Upon successful completion of the Challenge Phase, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The second phase, the “Udacity Nanodegree Program,” is slated to begin on August 25, 2025, and conclude on November 25, 2025. This advanced phase is exclusively for the top 1,500 high-performing learners from the Challenge Phase, who will receive a fully-funded scholarship to one of three AI-focused Udacity Nanodegree programs. These Nanodegrees offer in-depth knowledge, practical projects, and mentorship from AWS and Intel experts, preparing students for careers in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Eligibility for the program is open to individuals aged 18 and above, with no prior AI or ML experience required. The program specifically targets those with limited access to AI/ML educational resources, fostering a diverse future workforce in technology.
