This year’s awards saw an impressive field of contenders, with 249 finalists selected from a total of 463 submissions. The rigorous and independent judging methodology assessed nominees based on their innovation, impact, leadership, diversity, and overall contribution to Australia’s broader technology ecosystem.
Among the notable individual winners, Shahroz Tariq of CSIRO’s Data61 was recognized as the AI Rising Star of the Year – Enterprise, while Sarah Mateljan from GenLearn / LawCPD took home the AI Leader of the Year – SME award. Danny Wu from Canva was celebrated as the AI Leader of the Year – Enterprise, and Amantha Imber of Inventium was named AI Consultant of the Year – SME, with Anupam Das from EY winning the Enterprise equivalent.
In the group categories, iOmniscient received the AI Innovator – Information Technology award. Lendi Group was acknowledged for its innovation in mortgage broking, demonstrating AI’s impact on traditional financial services. A particularly significant win went to Apate.ai/Macquarie University for their work in consumer banking, recognized for an Australian-first deployment of anti-scam technology that leverages conversational AI-powered bots to extract scam intelligence and combat fraudulent phone calls.
