TLDR: Atomicwork, an agentic service management platform, has received a strategic investment from Okta Ventures. This partnership aims to integrate modern identity security with Atomicwork’s AI-native Universal Agent, enhancing secure and seamless IT support, reducing ticket volumes, and improving employee productivity in the AI era.
SAN FRANCISCO, September 17, 2025 – Atomicwork, a pioneering agentic service management platform designed for the AI era, today announced a significant strategic investment from Okta Ventures. This collaboration is set to revolutionize enterprise IT by embedding robust identity security into Atomicwork’s AI-native Universal Agent, ensuring faster, safer, and more context-rich IT support.
The investment underscores a shared vision between Atomicwork and Okta to address the evolving security landscape in AI-powered IT environments. By combining Agentic AI with modern identity security, the partnership aims to unlock enhanced employee productivity without compromising on experience, leading to quicker resolutions, fewer IT tickets, and secure-by-design workflows.
Vijay Rayapati, Co-founder and CEO of Atomicwork, emphasized the company’s mission: “Legacy ITSM tools were built to manage tickets. We’re building Atomicwork to eliminate them.” He added, “Okta Ventures shares our belief that identity is the foundation of trust in the enterprise. With their backing, we’ll accelerate our vision of giving modern IT teams the power of AI-native service management and enterprise identity controls in one unified platform, so employees can get instant, secure help wherever they work.”
The integration will enable Atomicwork and Okta to develop solutions that embed identity, access intelligence, and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) directly into daily service delivery. A practical example highlighted involves an employee unable to access Workday: by messaging Atom (Atomicwork’s Universal AI Agent) in platforms like Teams or Slack, Atom can validate their identity via Okta, determine the correct access policy based on role, group membership, and device data, and instantly assign access. Should security concerns arise, such as an unusual login location, Atom escalates the issue to IT with comprehensive identity context, eliminating manual workflows and ensuring a secure, compliant, and auditable process.
Atomicwork’s AI-native Universal Agent has already demonstrated its effectiveness, reducing ticket volumes by up to 60% for IT and service teams through omnichannel and multimodal Agentic AI, while boosting end-user satisfaction by over 25%. The integration of identity into these agentic workflows is expected to further enhance trust and compliance, meeting the demands of today’s global and distributed enterprises.
This strategic funding follows Atomicwork’s earlier success in raising over $25 million in an early-stage Series A funding round in January 2025, co-led by Z47 and Khosla Ventures, with additional backing from existing and new investors. Including a seed round of $11 million in 2023 and $3 million in strategic funding, Atomicwork has secured over $38 million to date. The company’s platform integrates with a company’s entire IT stack, utilizing an enterprise knowledge graph and integrated service platform to deploy AI agents as virtual teammates, automating routine tasks like password resets and account creation.
The broader market for AI agents is experiencing explosive growth, with forecasts predicting a surge from $5.32 billion in 2025 to $42.7 billion by 2030. Success rates for AI agent deployments have significantly improved, from 35% in 2023 to 65% in 2025, indicating increased maturity and reliability. Okta’s own ‘AI at Work 2025’ survey revealed that 91% of organizations are already utilizing AI agents, primarily for task automation, and 85% of leaders consider identity and access management (IAM) crucial for successful AI adoption.
