TLDR: Antom, a key provider of merchant payment and digitalization services under Ant International, has launched Antom Copilot 2.0. This significant upgrade introduces an industry-first AI Chargeback Assistant, designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) more effectively manage and resolve payment disputes. The new tool aims to boost dispute win rates and drastically reduce the time spent on chargeback resolution, alongside enhancing other merchant services with advanced AI capabilities.
Singapore – Antom, Ant International’s dedicated merchant payment and digitalization services provider, has announced the release of Antom Copilot 2.0, a major enhancement to its flagship AI agent. This upgraded platform is set to transform how merchants, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), handle complex payment operations, with a spotlight on its groundbreaking AI Chargeback Assistant.
The core innovation within Antom Copilot 2.0 is the introduction of what Antom describes as the industry’s first Chargeback AI Assistant. This tool directly addresses a critical challenge faced by SMEs: Antom’s internal data reveals that nearly 50% of its small business clients do not actively respond to payment disputes. The AI assistant is engineered to analyze individual chargeback cases, construct tailored response strategies, provide essential documentation support, and even offer success rate predictions through an intuitive integrated dashboard interface.
Pilot testing of the new chargeback functionality has yielded impressive results, demonstrating a 3 percentage point increase in dispute win rates for participating merchants. Furthermore, the tool significantly streamlined the resolution process, reducing the time spent on these tasks by a remarkable 46%. While the system currently requires merchant review and manual verification by Antom staff to ensure accuracy and reliability, full automation is slated for future releases.
Antom Copilot 2.0 extends its AI capabilities beyond chargeback management. The platform now includes automated payment method recommendations, leveraging AI to suggest optimal payment and integration solutions based on merchant requirements, market trends, and regional needs. The merchant onboarding process has also been significantly streamlined, utilizing multimodal large language models (LLMs) to efficiently extract and process data from registration documents. Additionally, merchants can now configure risk management settings using natural language prompts, making sophisticated anti-fraud tools more accessible without requiring extensive technical expertise.
Originally launched in June 2024, Antom Copilot is built on Ant International’s Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit, an AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) platform designed to empower financial technology companies and super apps to develop AI-driven financial services. The broader Antom Copilot platform has already demonstrated its efficiency, processing merchant integration requests over 90% faster than traditional methods and maintaining a 90% satisfaction rate for end-to-end issue resolution across its client base.
Usage data from the first half of 2025 indicates strong merchant engagement, with 56% of merchants accessing Antom’s dashboard interacting with the embedded AI assistant. Common inquiries revolved around payment method coverage, supported currencies, industry-specific solutions, and integration technology recommendations.
