TLDR: Ant International has officially launched AI SHIELD, a comprehensive toolkit designed to proactively safeguard AI systems within the financial services sector. This initiative aims to protect against threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring the security and compliance of AI-powered financial operations amidst the rapid transformation of global finance.
SINGAPORE – September 26, 2025 – Ant International, a leading global provider of digital payment, digitization, and financial technology services, today announced the official launch of AI SHIELD. This proactive toolkit is specifically engineered to protect artificial intelligence (AI) systems from emerging threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring that AI-powered financial services remain secure and compliant in an increasingly AI-driven global financial landscape.
AI SHIELD is a cornerstone of Ant International’s broader AI strategy, which prioritizes robust AI security, domain excellence in FinAI, and the expansion of AI services through an AI-as-a-Service platform. The company has integrated AI across all stages of its payment processing, having supported over US$1 trillion in global transactions in 2024 with AI technologies.
The new solution is designed to significantly mitigate risks associated with AI service vulnerabilities. Ant International states that AI SHIELD can reduce the risk of issues such as unauthorized access and data leakage by an impressive 90% through advanced assessment methods and the implementation of stringent safeguards. It leverages an ‘AI Security Docker’ to address inherent unreliability in AI services, including biases, security flaws, and ethical concerns.
AI SHIELD provides full-lifecycle protection for financial transactions, actively defending businesses and users against sophisticated threats like deepfake attacks, various forms of fraud, and scams. As an example of its efficacy, the Alipay+ EasySafePay 360 account protection solution, also launched in September 2025, is projected to reduce account takeover incidents for digital wallet payments by 90%.
Ant International is also actively involved in shaping industry standards for AI security. The company is a launch partner of the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), an open rulebook developed in collaboration with industry leaders like Google, which defines how AI agents can reliably and securely transact with user authorization. This commitment extends to managing risks across the entire AI system lifecycle, from architecture design and data processing to model training and inferencing. The AI SHIELD framework employs over 100 recognition models and more than 600,000 risk lexicons to provide real-time dynamic risk assessment, including the detection of adversarial prompts and sensitive data leakage.
The launch comes at a critical time, as AI-generated payment fraud has been encountered by 22% of businesses, and AI scamming threats, particularly those utilizing deepfake technology, have seen a more than tenfold increase annually. Ant International’s substantial investment in AI security solutions aims to combat both external AI scamming attacks and internal model security risks such as hallucination or bias.

Jiangming Yang, Chief Innovation Officer of Ant International, has previously emphasized the company’s vision, stating, “The future of finance will be shaped by agentic AI that not only carries out tasks autonomously in real automated workflows, and in a sophisticated financial business and compliance context with reliability, but also interacts, evolves and learns rapidly in orchestration with ever-growing precision.” This sentiment underscores the strategic importance of AI SHIELD in building trust and resilience in the evolving FinAI sector. The company also offers other AI capabilities, such as the Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit, launched in June 2025, which enables fintechs and superapp operators to build custom AI agents and AI-native services for their users.
