Anthropic Projects Significant Revenue Growth, Targeting Up to $26 Billion by 2026

TLDR: AI startup Anthropic aims to nearly triple its annualized revenue by 2026, projecting to reach up to $26 billion, driven primarily by robust enterprise demand for its AI solutions like the Claude language models. The company, currently with an annualized revenue of nearly $7 billion, also recently launched Claude Haiku 4.5 to further expand its market reach.

Artificial intelligence powerhouse Anthropic is setting ambitious financial targets, with internal projections indicating a near-tripling of its annualized revenue by 2026. Sources close to the company suggest that Anthropic expects to achieve an annual revenue run rate of approximately $9 billion by the close of 2025, with a best-case scenario aiming for an impressive $26 billion in 2026, and a base scenario exceeding $20 billion. This rapid growth trajectory would position Anthropic among the fastest-growing AI firms serving business clients.

The San Francisco-based company, renowned for its Claude language models, has seen its annualized revenue surge to nearly $7 billion as of October 2025, a substantial increase from about $1 billion at the beginning of the year. This significant acceleration is largely attributed to the strong adoption of its AI tools by enterprise clients, who now account for roughly 80% of its total sales. More than 300,000 firms currently utilize Anthropic’s Claude tools.

Further bolstering its product portfolio, Anthropic recently introduced Claude Code, which has already generated nearly $1 billion in annualized revenue since its launch earlier this year. The company also unveiled an updated version of its most affordable AI model, Claude Haiku 4.5. This new model offers performance comparable to the mid-tier Claude Sonnet 4 but at a third of the price and more than twice the speed, making it the default for Claude.ai free plans and targeting cost-conscious users.

Anthropic’s aggressive expansion and growth are intensifying its competition with OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, which is backed by Microsoft. OpenAI reported an annual run rate of $13 billion in August and anticipates exceeding $20 billion by the end of the year. While OpenAI maintains a strong presence in the consumer market, Anthropic is strategically strengthening its foothold in enterprise sectors by emphasizing reliability and data safety.

In terms of valuation and strategic initiatives, Anthropic recently secured a $13 billion Series F funding round led by ICONIQ, pushing its valuation to approximately $183 billion. The company has outlined plans for significant global expansion, including opening its first international office in Bengaluru, India, in 2026. This expansion is expected to coincide with a tripling of its global workforce and a fivefold increase in its applied AI team to support product development and market penetration.

Additionally, Anthropic has forged key partnerships, notably an expanded alliance with Deloitte. This collaboration aims to integrate Claude into Deloitte’s extensive workforce of 470,000 employees and to co-develop new industry-specific AI solutions. Deloitte will also establish a Claude Centre of Excellence, providing specialized training and support for the deployment and optimization of Anthropic’s AI technologies.
