Anthropic and Accel Partner for Inaugural India Developer Event in Bengaluru

TLDR: Anthropic, in collaboration with Accel, is set to host its first India Developer Event in Bengaluru on October 11, 2025. The invite-only ‘AI Dev Day’ will focus on leveraging Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4.5 model and APIs, featuring a developer challenge with significant Claude credits as prizes, underscoring India’s growing importance as Anthropic’s second-largest market.

Bengaluru is poised to host a landmark event in the artificial intelligence landscape as Anthropic, a leading AI company, partners with venture capital firm Accel to present its inaugural India Developer Event on October 11, 2025. This invite-only ‘AI Dev Day’ aims to bring together a select group of CTOs, product leaders, and founders to delve into building with Anthropic’s advanced Claude models and scaling AI solutions via APIs.

The event will offer a deep dive into Anthropic’s newly launched Claude Sonnet 4.5, touted as the company’s most advanced reasoning and coding model. Attendees can anticipate a comprehensive agenda, including a roadmap keynote, technical sessions designed for production-grade deployments, and a developer showcase highlighting innovative applications. “Looking forward to hosting our friends from Anthropic in Namma Bengaluru! On the heels of the latest Claude model – their first developer event in India,” stated Prayank Swaroop, a partner at Accel, in a LinkedIn post. Accel further elaborated that the event promises “high-value discussions at the frontier of AI,” focusing on practical build patterns and deployment basics.

A central feature of the Developer Day is a community demo program, inviting Indian developers to construct new projects using Claude Code or the Claude API. Submissions require a three-minute demo video, a 300-word description, and a GitHub repository or app link. The focus areas for these projects are ‘Enterprise Agents’ and ‘Vertical Copilots,’ targeting critical sectors such as fintech, healthcare, logistics, and compliance. Projects must be either new builds or incorporate substantial new features. The top three projects will be awarded $2,500 each in Claude credits and the prestigious opportunity to demo their innovations live at the event. Second and third-place winners will also receive $1,500 and $1,000 in credits, respectively, with the top 50 submissions earning an in-person invitation to the exclusive gathering.

This event underscores India’s strategic importance to Anthropic, as the country accounts for 7.2% of global Claude usage, making it Anthropic’s second-largest market after the United States (21.6%). The timing aligns with Anthropic’s broader global expansion strategy, which includes plans to triple its international workforce and increase its applied AI team fivefold this year to meet escalating demand for its Claude AI models outside the U.S. Reports suggest Anthropic also intends to establish a direct presence in India.
