Kumar was instrumental in leading the development of Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) highly anticipated Quick Suite AI agent platform, a significant initiative aimed at revolutionizing Amazon’s approach to AI-powered business applications. In addition to Quick Suite, he also oversaw the Q Business AI chatbot and the QuickSight analytics tool.
Kumar’s departure, effective at the end of the month, will see him remain with the team to ensure a seamless transition. While there is no indication of his complete exit from Amazon, he may transition into a new role within the company. Swami Sivasubramanian, currently the Vice President of AWS Agentic AI, is slated to take over the majority of Kumar’s responsibilities. Sivasubramanian has been a key figure in advancing AWS’s agentic AI strategy, which focuses on developing intelligent, autonomous AI systems capable of executing complex tasks.
