TLDR: Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Sonatus have partnered to leverage Amazon Bedrock for developing an AI-driven natural language interface. This innovation aims to drastically simplify the creation of data collection and automation policies for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), reducing the process from days to minutes and making it accessible to both technical and non-technical personnel.
In a significant advancement for the automotive industry, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Sonatus have collaborated to introduce an AI-driven solution for streamlining vehicle data collection and automation policy creation. This initiative, detailed in a recent announcement, utilizes Amazon Bedrock to address critical challenges faced by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the era of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).
Vehicle data is increasingly vital for OEMs, serving as a cornerstone for continuous product innovation, performance enhancements, and the development of new value-added services. Concurrently, the growing digitalization of vehicle architectures and the adoption of software-configurable functions enable OEMs to efficiently deploy new features and capabilities. Sonatus’s flagship products, Collector AI and Automator AI, are designed to tackle these aspects of the SDV evolution.
Collector AI aims to lower the barrier to utilizing data across the entire vehicle lifecycle by enabling the creation of data collection policies without requiring changes to vehicle electronics or modifications to embedded code. However, OEM engineers and other data consumers often grapple with the overwhelming task of selecting from thousands of vehicle signals to meet their specific use cases and desired outcomes. Similarly, Automator AI’s no-code methodology for automating vehicle functions, which uses intuitive if-then-style scripted workflows, can still present challenges, particularly for users unfamiliar with the vast array of events and signals available on vehicles.
To overcome these hurdles, Sonatus partnered with the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center. This collaboration has led to the development of a natural language interface that leverages generative AI to create data collection and automation policies. The primary objective of this innovation is to significantly reduce the policy generation process, transforming what once took days into mere minutes. Furthermore, it aims to democratize access to these capabilities, making them usable by both seasoned engineers and non-expert users alike.
