Agentic AI Firm Wonderful Expands into Romanian Market, Appoints Lucia Stoicescu as Country Manager

TLDR: Wonderful, a global enterprise AI agent platform, has announced its entry into the Romanian market, appointing Lucia Stoicescu as its Country Manager. The expansion is part of a rapid global growth strategy, supported by a USD 34 million seed funding round. Wonderful specializes in multilingual AI agents for customer service operations, capable of handling voice and natural language conversations in 23 languages.

Global enterprise AI agent platform Wonderful announced on Monday, October 13, 2025, its strategic entry into the Romanian market, simultaneously appointing Lucia Stoicescu as the Country Manager for its new operations. This move signifies a key step in the company’s ambitious plan for rapid expansion across global markets.

Wonderful, founded in early 2025 by CEO Bar Winkler and CTO Roey Lalazar, offers an integrated agent platform designed to empower enterprises in building, managing, and monitoring AI agents for customer service. Bar Winkler previously established Approve.com, a company focused on automated payment management solutions for businesses, which was later acquired by Tipalti in 2021. Roey Lalazar, on the other hand, founded Kaps, an AI-based localization platform, bringing significant expertise to Wonderful’s technological foundation.

A core offering of Wonderful is its advanced multilingual AI agent platform. This platform is capable of managing intricate voice interactions and natural language conversations across 23 languages, including a highly fluent Romanian with accurate diacritics and an understanding of polite speech nuances. These AI agents are primarily deployed for call center operations, handling interactions via chat and email. The company also emphasizes local deployment, ensuring dedicated teams in each market to support its operations.

The expansion into Romania is backed by a substantial USD 34 million seed funding round. This round was led by prominent venture capital firm Index Ventures, with additional participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and Vine Ventures.

The decision to enter the Romanian market is strategic, addressing the increasing demand for scalable support teams during periods of growth or peak activity, as well as the rising need for multilingual customer service solutions. Industries served by Wonderful often face challenges such as stringent Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements, complex system integrations, and high call volumes distributed across various support channels like email, voice, and chat.

Lucia Stoicescu, the newly appointed Country Manager for Romania, brings over two decades of extensive experience in the IT industry. Her background spans critical sectors including fintech, telecom, and medtech, where she has held various top management positions. Most recently, she served as the CEO of the Romanian software company mindit.io. Academically, Stoicescu is a graduate of the University of Craiova with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, holds a Master’s in Web Programming from the University of Bucharest, and an MBA from Université du Québec à Montréal.

Commenting on the company’s entry, Lucia Stoicescu stated, “I believe that AI integration is the greatest advantage a company can have in today’s competitive landscape. With a strong base of experts, an IT ecosystem that rapidly adopts new technologies, and a thriving BPO industry, Romania is uniquely positioned for natural language AI adoption.”
