Santa Barbara, California – ChipAgents, a pioneer in agentic AI for semiconductor design and verification, announced today the successful closure of an oversubscribed $21 million Series A funding round. This latest investment elevates the company’s total capital raised to $24 million, underscoring strong investor confidence in its innovative approach to chip development. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with significant strategic participation from industry giants such as Micron, MediaTek, and Ericsson, alongside continued support from existing investors ScOp Venture Capital and Amino Capital.
ChipAgents’ platform leverages agentic AI to automate traditionally time-consuming and complex processes in chip design, including RTL generation, debugging, and verification. This advanced automation has enabled customers to achieve up to an 80% reduction in design cycles and significantly improve overall productivity. The company reports a remarkable 50x year-over-year revenue growth and has already seen its technology deployed at 50 leading semiconductor companies, including top-tier firms, automotive system designers, and emerging chip startups.
Professor William Wang, founder and CEO of ChipAgents, highlighted the critical need for such innovation. “Electronic design automation (EDA) has powered decades of semiconductor progress, but today’s engineers still struggle with fragmented toolchains, steep costs, and workflows that haven’t kept pace with rapidly growing chip complexity,” Wang stated. “As designs scale, productivity gains have slowed, and verification remains highly manual. Our vision is to change that. With ChipAgents, we’re introducing a unified agentic AI platform designed to automate routine tasks, accelerate design and verification, and enable AI-native workflows that help engineers focus on innovation rather than repetitive effort.”

The newly secured funds will be instrumental in expanding ChipAgents’ product capabilities, growing its customer base, and enhancing integrations with existing EDA tools. The company also plans to bolster its engineering team and forge strategic partnerships across the semiconductor industry. Further solidifying its industry standing, ChipAgents has welcomed former CEOs of Cadence (Wally Rhines) and Mentor Graphics (Raúl Camposano), along with the former CTO of Synopsys (Jack Harding), to its advisory board, signaling an ambitious drive to redefine the electronic design automation landscape through AI.
