Agentic AI Adoption Surges in India: One-Third of Population Embraces ‘Indispensable Digital Companions’

A new study released on November 6, 2025, highlights a significant surge in the adoption of ‘agentic AI’ systems across India, with a remarkable one in three Indians (33%) already integrating these tools into their daily lives. These advanced artificial intelligence systems are being hailed as ‘indispensable digital companions’ due to their ability to interpret human intent, make autonomous decisions, and execute actions without constant human oversight. The study further indicates a strong future trend, with an additional 44% of the Indian population planning to adopt agentic AI soon.

Prativa Mohapatra, vice president and managing director of Adobe India, emphasized the transformative role of these technologies. “AI assistants are no longer just experimental tools–they’re becoming indispensable digital companions,” Mohapatra stated. She elaborated on India’s rapid progression in the AI landscape, noting, “India is moving fast from assistants that summarise and draft to AI agents that compare choices, surface the best deals, and complete approved bookings and purchases.” This evolution signifies a shift towards more proactive and intuitive AI interactions.
