ACCRA, Ghana – In a significant stride towards digital transformation and financial innovation across Africa, Africon AI, a leading Ghana-based artificial intelligence company, has partnered with the African Union Commission (AUC) to empower its officials with cutting-edge AI skills. The collaboration aims to strengthen financial management, budgeting, and reporting mechanisms within African institutions.
The “AI Masterclass on Financial Management, Budgeting and Reporting” was held from October 24–25, 2025, at the newly inaugurated Africon AI Training & Innovation Centre in East Legon, Accra. This event marked a dual milestone for Africon AI: its first multi-country in-person AI training and the inaugural major training program hosted at its state-of-the-art facility.
Senior finance and policy professionals from various departments and divisions of the African Union participated in the intensive two-day program. The masterclass provided hands-on learning in generative AI applications, featuring prominent tools such as ChatGPT, Gamma, Read AI, Comet (Perplexity), and NotebookLM. Participants gained practical expertise in automating financial reports, enhancing data visualization, optimizing budgeting processes, and facilitating faster, evidence-based decision-making.
Gideon Asare, Founder and CEO of Africon AI, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership. “This collaboration with the African Union reflects our shared commitment to helping African institutions harness the power of AI responsibly and effectively,” said Mr. Asare. “Financial innovation today isn’t just about figures; it’s about how quickly and intelligently organizations can interpret and act on data. AI allows institutions like the AU to deliver all three at scale.”
A key highlight of the training was the introduction of Africon AI’s proprietary CRIT prompt framework. This framework is designed to guide professionals in crafting effective AI prompts for complex tasks such as financial analysis, audit reporting, and policy drafting. Through practical group projects, participants applied these methods to real financial data, demonstrating AI’s potential to significantly enhance accuracy, transparency, and compliance in institutional reporting.
Rhodaline Animah, Training Coordinator at Africon AI, lauded the participants’ engagement. “The enthusiasm from AU participants was outstanding,” she noted. “The sessions demonstrated how quickly finance professionals can adapt to AI tools once they see real-world use cases aligned with their work.”
This masterclass underscores Africon AI’s growing reputation as a leader in AI-driven corporate transformation across the continent. The company’s Accra-based Training & Innovation Centre offers customized AI and digital transformation programs for a diverse range of clients, including banks, insurance companies, public institutions, NGOs, and development organizations throughout Africa. Africon AI’s mission is to bridge the AI knowledge gap in Africa, fostering innovation and empowering businesses to thrive in the digital economy.
