TLDR: Accenture has announced record generative AI bookings of $1.2 billion in its first fiscal quarter of 2025, bringing its total generative AI sales to $4.2 billion since September 2023. This surge reflects increasing client investment in AI, contributing to the company’s strong Q1 revenue of $17.69 billion and revised full-year growth projections.
Accenture, a global professional services company, has reported a significant milestone in its generative artificial intelligence (AI) segment, achieving record bookings of $1.2 billion in the first fiscal quarter of 2025, which concluded in November 2024. This latest surge elevates the company’s total generative AI sales to an impressive $4.2 billion since September 2023, marking its highest quarterly bookings in this rapidly expanding technology area.
The robust performance in generative AI underscores a growing trend of client investment in advanced AI solutions. Previously, in its September 2024 earnings call, Accenture had announced $1 billion in generative AI sales, a notable increase from $900 million in the preceding quarter. The company was also a pioneer in its industry, being the first to disclose specific generative AI deal values, starting with $100 million in pure-play generative AI projects in June 2023.
Julie Sweet, Accenture’s CEO, commented on the integration of generative AI, stating, “It’s not really different from the kinds of productivity that we’ve been experiencing. And here, of course, there’s an added wrinkle in that generative AI. In order for us to use it with our clients, they have to allow us to use it and they have to prioritise.” She further emphasized the critical need for organizations to establish a solid data foundation before scaling AI applications.
Financially, Accenture’s first-quarter revenue stood at $17.69 billion, representing a 7.8% sequential increase. This strong showing led to an upward revision of its full-year growth projections from 3-6% to 4-7%. Phil Fersht, chief executive of HFS Research, noted, “The Accenture results reflect the recent pick-up in tech spend, especially in GenAI strategy and implementation projects. When you consider Microsoft Copilot has achieved $1 billion of sales in its first year, it makes complete sense that there will be an accelerated spend on services in this area and Accenture is leading the charge.”
Accenture continues to bolster its capabilities and partnerships in the AI domain. In October 2024, it partnered with NVIDIA to launch the Accenture NVIDIA Business Group, an initiative aimed at helping enterprises accelerate AI adoption. This collaboration includes a commitment to train 30,000 professionals globally to assist clients in reinventing processes and expanding the use of enterprise AI systems. The company has also made substantial investments, including a $3 billion commitment to its data and AI practice last year and allocating $1 billion annually to train its workforce in generative AI.

Despite its robust performance and strategic advancements, Accenture maintains a cautious outlook on the global economy.
