TLDR: Acceldata has launched its Agentic Data Management (Agentic DM) platform, an AI-first solution designed to transform enterprise data operations from reactive to proactive and intelligent. This platform utilizes intelligent AI agents to autonomously detect, prioritize, and resolve complex data anomalies, aiming to enhance data reliability, reduce costs, and optimize performance across diverse data environments.
Acceldata, a leader in data observability and agentic data management solutions, has unveiled its groundbreaking Agentic Data Management (Agentic DM) platform, marking a significant shift in how enterprises handle their data. The platform, which is set for general availability on July 31, 2025, leverages advanced AI agents to provide autonomous, intelligent, and self-healing data operations.
According to Rohit Choudhary, co-founder and CEO of Acceldata, ‘The rise of agentic AI demands a fundamental shift in enterprise data strategy—from static oversight to intelligent, autonomous control.’ He emphasized that traditional governance tools and data catalogs are no longer sufficient in an era where data flows through a complex web of platforms, AI agents, and self-service users. Choudhary stated, ‘The agentic era demands systems that don’t just observe data, but act on it.’ He further noted that ‘Data Management is witnessing its ChatGPT moment,’ and that organizations failing to modernize their data management strategies will be at a severe disadvantage in an AI-first economy.
Agentic DM introduces intelligent agents that can reason and act, delivering AI-ready data quality, kinetic data governance, and operational resilience at scale. This approach aims to move from human-led manual decisions to AI-led collaboration, ultimately leading to fully autonomous, self-optimizing operations. The platform’s capabilities include real-time, closed-loop control over data operations, continuously monitoring, planning, recommending, validating, and enforcing data quality and governance policies.
A core component of Agentic DM is the xLake Reasoning Engine, a powerful, scalable AI-aware data processing engine designed to run across hyperscalers, data clouds, and on-premises environments. This engine, proven at exabyte scale, significantly surpasses traditional data quality and governance systems. Acceldata also introduced the xLake Model Context Protocol (MCP) with Distributed Compute Server, described as the first distributed data control plane purpose-built for intelligent agents, ensuring seamless control across various data environments.
Ramon Chen, Chief Product Officer at Acceldata, highlighted how data observability has evolved into a ‘full-blown tidal wave,’ becoming crucial for proactive data quality and trustworthiness. He explained that Agentic AI data management applies AI agents to data management in a way similar to their application in customer support, offering a chat-like interface that provides personalized insights and recommendations about data quality and reliability. The company’s new Adaptive AI Anomaly Detection offering, part of its agentic data management strategy, employs AI agents with multi-variate analysis capabilities to detect hard-to-spot anomalies that conventional approaches often miss. Choudhary noted that this enables enterprises to ‘uncover hidden patterns and risks that conventional approaches simply miss,’ and ‘detect problems before they cause significant business impact.’ Gartner estimates that data quality issues can cost companies up to $15 million per year.
