Industry analysts Rob Strechay and John Furrier, speaking at theCUBE’s NYSE studio, highlighted this evolution from disparate AI tools to integrated, multi-agent systems. Their analysis underscores how protocol momentum, metadata innovation, and cloud-native flexibility are accelerating real-world deployments. According to Strechay, Managing Director and Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research, success in AI now hinges on a company’s ability to adopt open protocols, leverage comprehensive catalogs, and implement rapid migration strategies. Strechay elaborated on the technical underpinnings, stating, “MCP is really the protocol… It’s a way to communicate via APIs and basically publish-subscribe. Bedrock is really looking to leverage that. I think you look at SageMaker and what they’re doing, making Nova part of that as well. I think how LLMs get utilized and how different pieces are the MCP, then are the agents using A2A to talk and communicate as you get into these multi-agentic frameworks — a lot of pieces that are moving around.”

Agentic AI signifies a critical shift from mere automation to true autonomy, enabling systems to process real-time data, learn continuously, and adapt behavior without direct human intervention. This capability is proving transformative for cloud migration, converting what was once a protracted process into a fast, secure, and value-driven endeavor. Tarkan Maner, Chief Commercial Officer of Nutanix Inc., and Chris Sullivan, Partner Sales Senior Leader for Financial Services at Amazon Web Services Inc., concur that agentic frameworks are empowering partners to deliver tailored solutions with tangible business impact through compressed timelines, cross-platform portability, and AI-infused toolchains.

The agentic AI framework ecosystem has seen explosive growth between 2024 and 2025, with over a dozen major frameworks vying to empower developers in building autonomous AI agents. LangChain and LangGraph lead with over 99,000 and 15,900 GitHub stars respectively, boasting 28 million monthly downloads and adoption by major enterprises like Klarna and Uber. These frameworks are favored for their comprehensive ecosystem and focus on low-level control and production stability, ideal for complex, stateful workflows.

Microsoft’s AutoGen, with over 44,000 stars, has revolutionized multi-agent conversations through its event-driven architecture and no-code interface, AutoGen Studio, excelling in creating collaborative agent teams. CrewAI has emerged as the fastest-growing framework, accumulating 30,700 stars and being adopted by nearly half of Fortune 500 companies. Its unique role-based approach allows for the creation of specialized ‘crews’ of agents that collaborate on complex tasks, processing over 10 million agent executions monthly and certifying over 100,000 developers. AutoGPT remains a pioneering force, with over 175,000 stars, for its concept of fully autonomous AI agents capable of breaking down complex objectives into subtasks.

Chief Information Officers (CIOs) are at the forefront of this paradigm shift, tasked with identifying processes ripe for AI agent reimagination and ensuring responsible deployment. PwC notes that its agent OS is enabling enterprises to orchestrate and scale these agents effectively, leading to early improvements in speed, compliance, and decision-making. The emphasis for CIOs is on responsible implementation, extending governance beyond individual tools to entire systems of intelligent agents to ensure they drive desired outcomes, not just outputs.
