Pro AI Global Establishes Islamabad Chapter to Advance Pakistan’s Artificial Intelligence Landscape

Islamabad, Pakistan – October 21, 2025 – Pro AI Global, an international organization dedicated to advancing Artificial Intelligence, proudly announced the official launch of its Islamabad Chapter. This significant event marks a crucial step in strengthening Pakistan’s burgeoning AI ecosystem and enhancing its global presence in the field of AI.

The launching ceremony, held in Islamabad, brought together a diverse group of over 150 participants, including prominent AI experts, industry leaders, policymakers, and academicians. The collective presence underscored a unified commitment to promoting responsible and inclusive AI development within Pakistan, in strict adherence to the nation’s National AI Policy, UNESCO’s AI Ethics Framework, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Founded by Ammara Aftab, who serves as the Founder & Global Chairperson of Pro AI Global, the organization originated in Pakistan and has since expanded its reach to more than 30 countries worldwide. This expansion has cultivated a robust international network of AI thought leaders and innovators.

Addressing the attendees, Ammara Aftab emphasized Islamabad’s pivotal role. “Islamabad stands at the heart of national policy and digital innovation. With this chapter, we are connecting the ecosystem — ministries, academia, industry, and global experts — to drive Pakistan’s AI revolution,” she stated. Aftab further highlighted the organization’s journey, adding, “Pro AI Global started from Pakistan, and today’s launch signifies our commitment to positioning the nation as a global AI leader.”

Faraz Hussain, Global Vice President – Governance & Strategy at Pro AI Global, echoed this sentiment, remarking, “This launch represents Pakistan’s re-emergence as a thought leader in responsible AI. Our goal is to build synergy between policy, people, and purpose.”

The Islamabad Chapter’s leadership team includes Dr. Sardar Ikram as President and Zubair Elahi as Vice President. Ammar Jaffri, an Advisory Board Member, commented on the chapter’s role: “The Islamabad Chapter brings together public and private stakeholders to shape Pakistan’s AI future through practical collaboration, innovation, and capacity building.” Dr. Sardar Ikram further elaborated, “Our chapter will serve as the central bridge between national strategy and local implementation.”
