Hyderabad, October 14, 2025 – In a significant move to advance the discourse on artificial intelligence in academia, Professor V Balakista Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), formally unveiled a special issue of the International Journal of Research and Analytical Reviews (IJRAR) at the TGCHE Office. This dedicated issue focuses on the burgeoning field of Generative AI within education and research.
The special issue of IJRAR, which boasts an impressive impact factor of 9.47 and was formerly listed under UGC-CARE, is published by the Government Degree College (GDC), Gambhiraopet. It comprises 40 meticulously peer-reviewed research papers, all adhering to stringent international publication ethics and standards, reflecting the robust scholarly environment within Telangana’s higher education institutions.
Speaking at the launch event, Professor Reddy underscored the profound and transformative potential of Generative AI in reshaping various facets of teaching, learning, and research. He highlighted its capacity to significantly enhance content creation, effectively bridge existing learning gaps, and foster greater interdisciplinary collaboration across academic domains. However, Professor Reddy also issued a cautionary note against overreliance on AI tools, advocating strongly for the implementation of ethical governance frameworks, the promotion of comprehensive digital literacy, and the responsible integration of AI technologies within the academic ecosystem.
The genesis of this special issue can be traced back to a one-day national seminar titled “The Role of Generative AI in Education and Research: A Multidisciplinary Perspective on Hybrid Mode,” which was held on April 21, 2025. The seminar, sponsored by the TGCHE, saw the submission and presentation of approximately 100 research papers, both physically and virtually, contributing to the rich content of the journal.
