HCLTech Secures Dozen Generative AI Deals, Reinforcing Commitment to AI-Driven Transformation

TLDR: HCLTech has successfully closed 12 exclusive deals centered on generative AI in the recent quarter, signaling strong confidence in the technology’s transformative potential. This comes as the company also reported its Q4 FY25 financial results, alongside significant partnerships with OpenAI and Pearson to further scale AI solutions and address workforce needs.

HCLTech has demonstrated a robust commitment to generative artificial intelligence, securing 12 exclusive deals involving the cutting-edge technology in the past quarter. While specific industry verticals for these deals were not disclosed, CEO C Vijaykumar affirmed that generative AI is now an integral component of nearly all new engagements, underscoring its pervasive impact across the company’s operations and client solutions.

This strategic focus on AI comes amidst HCLTech’s Q4 FY25 financial performance, where the company reported a revenue of ₹30,246 crore, marking a 1.2% increase from the previous quarter. In USD terms, revenue stood at $3.4 billion, a slight decrease of 1.0% quarter-on-quarter. For the full financial year, revenue reached ₹117,055 Crores, up 6.5%, or $13.8 billion, representing a 4.3% increase year-over-year. Despite a weakening operating performance with EBIT dropping to ₹5,442 crore and net profit declining by 6.3% to ₹4,300 crore for the fourth quarter, the company’s confidence in generative AI remains high.

Further solidifying its position in the AI landscape, HCLTech has forged a strategic multi-year partnership with OpenAI, becoming one of its first strategic services partners. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of generative AI for large global enterprises by integrating OpenAI’s advanced models, including ChatGPT and various APIs, with HCLTech’s proprietary AI platforms such as AI Force and AI Foundry. The partnership is designed to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end AI solutions, spanning from readiness assessment and integration to enterprise-scale deployment, governance, and long-term management across diverse sectors like manufacturing, banking, retail, and healthcare. HCLTech also plans to deploy ChatGPT Enterprise and OpenAI APIs internally to enhance its own operations, including content generation, software development, and data analysis.
